In this sci-fi epic from director Bong Joon-Ho (The Host, Mother), a failed global-warming experiment kills off most life on the planet. The final survivors board the SNOWPIERCER, a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine. When cryptic messages incite the passengers to revolt, the train thrusts full-throttle towards disaster.

Starring Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris, Alison Pill, Ewen Bremner, Octavia Spencer, Kang-ho Song, and Ko Asung, Snowpiercer is set to be released on June 27th, 2014.

Never heard of this movie.
Spidey91 - 6/5/2014, 5:42 PM
I highly recommend this movie. it's very gritty and violent, and it's actually kind of surreal to see Chrs Evans in the movie, let alone portraying this kind of character.
Reasonnnn - 6/5/2014, 5:43 PM
This movie is the best pure sci-fi film since Alfonso Cuaron's CHILDREN OF MEN. And no that is not hyperbole.
Bekss - 6/5/2014, 5:44 PM
It was huge in south korea, hope it does well in the US.

This movie is one of the best Sci Fi movies I've seen in the past year or so. You should watch it.

Wow, Americans haven't seen this yet? Saw it like a long time ago
Comedian03 - 6/5/2014, 5:58 PM
Such a MASSIVELY disappointing movie. There was a tonne of potential here, but unfortunately for me, it missed the mark on quite a few points.

Wait, is this the one that was said to be facing heavy destructive edits and even Chris Evans was refusing to promote that cut?
RobtimusPrime - 6/5/2014, 6:11 PM
I also never heard of this.
A Sci-Fi flick starring, Chris Evans? I'm in.

"Speed 5" Uh-oh, wait.....

Also by the description above worried it's going to beat me over the head with the whole "Global Warming" tree hugging shit.
SuperCat - 6/5/2014, 6:11 PM
Gotta be honest. I probably won't see this until it hits cable.
EXODUZ - 6/5/2014, 6:11 PM
Comedian03 I'm curious, as I thought the film was excellent, where you think this film missed the mark?
EXODUZ - 6/5/2014, 6:11 PM
Maybe you saw the cut version
DrunkenNukem - 6/5/2014, 6:13 PM

No I saw the full version. I can't remember specifics as I saw it a couple months ago now and only watched it the once, but I remember finding it to be extremely predictable, some of the logic behind the train cars and how they're maintained/run/placed was ridiculous, some of the characters are extremely underused, they give you a character that seems like they have a lot of depth and are going to be interesting to watch/develop, and then go nowhere with them.

I know there's some more I'm forgetting, might be an idea for me to rewatch the movie again before I start bashing it too much.

But like I said, there was a lot of potential there, and there were quite a few parts I did like, but the cons out-weighed the pros for me.

Just watched the trailer. Looks like a straight-to-DVD joint you might find on netflix at the bottom with the other cheap ass movies.

[frick]ing phenomenal movie.
InfiniteMonkey - 6/5/2014, 7:43 PM
A most awesome movie for sure.

Love the grit. There's a fight scene in the dark that is crazy as hell.
Ranger14 - 6/5/2014, 8:45 PM
I really enjoyed this film. It found it far from predictable and was an interesting take on how social status is perceived. Definitely a different role for Evans.
MakluIV - 6/5/2014, 9:55 PM
Great film. It wont be what you're expecting. It's very strange, very unique. Chris Evans does a great job as the lead, and all the supporting characters are great as well. The ending was really cool too. I completely enjoyed this film from beginning to end. I highly recommend it.
And yes, the fight scene in the dark was awesome!
Ceejay - 6/5/2014, 10:57 PM
It was a decent scifi flick, almost had a Terry Gilliam "Brazil" tone to it but hardly outstanding in any department or with any of its performances. Certainly no better than Oblivion or Looper from recent years.
Goran - 6/6/2014, 12:36 AM
Great film! Visionary indeed!
thetrojan - 6/6/2014, 12:50 AM
A couple of silly bits and a last minute ending I did not like.
But I was gripped from the beginning.

Good gritty sci-fi.
Great performances.
MrLoki - 6/6/2014, 1:01 AM
Absolutely amazing film. Complex and gritty sci-fi. I'll definitely be seeing it again.
TheOverlord - 6/6/2014, 2:58 AM
This is a joint South Korean-American production, but...
Opened August 1, 2013 in South Korea.
Opens June 27, 2014 in the United States.
That's an absolutely HUGE lag time!
83% on Rotten Tomatoes

JayTopStix - 6/6/2014, 10:59 AM
This flick is better than Cap 2 IMO
case - 6/7/2014, 2:25 AM
Yep it's awesome. Take with a healthy dose of suspension of disbelief and you should really enjoy it.
TheRealistStarLord - 6/7/2014, 6:27 AM
