From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Though the soundtrack is available to pre-order on Amazon, there currently is no track listing, and that will be an interesting reveal for two reasons. Firstly, it will offer up some potential spoilers about the movie, and secondly, we'll know which other 80s songs we should be listening out for! What do you guys think? Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st.

I would totally buy this for the cover alone.
Abary - 7/1/2014, 11:52 AM
That is perhaps the greatest soundtrack cover that has ever been produced. I'm certainly buying this for all the amazing songs on it.
Pasto - 7/1/2014, 11:52 AM
P.S. Someone wanna tell me how to make a mix-tape or mix-CD?
Phronesis - 7/1/2014, 11:57 AM
Nice cover.
Jollem - 7/1/2014, 12:00 PM
it's alright. not as cool as this

Abary - 7/1/2014, 12:01 PM
So, Hooked on a Feeling, Spirit in the Sky, and Cherry Bomb are all practically guaranteed since they were in trailers and TV Spots, but... I'm wondering what other great songs will be in the movie itself. Specifically, if they'll be a great song during the end credits similar to Highway to Hell in IM2 or Live to Rise in Avengers.
bigdannymac - 7/1/2014, 12:01 PM
Awesome throw-back! I used to make mix-tapes all the freaking time!!!!
shabat - 7/1/2014, 12:02 PM
As much as I think this movie looks silly, that soundtrack cover is pretty cool.
Bazinga - 7/1/2014, 12:02 PM
KurtWagner1225 - 7/1/2014, 12:04 PM
we know some of the songs in the film, of course,

"Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede

"Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum

Chris Pratt had revealed two more songs:

"Ooh Child" by The Five Stairsteps

"Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone

and Gunn confirmed that this song is in it:

"Cherry Bomb" by The Runaways

shabat - 7/1/2014, 12:05 PM
I haven't really been paying attention, but has a composer ever been announced for this movie?
KurtWagner1225 - 7/1/2014, 12:06 PM
shabat-im actually amazed that this movie has captured the tone perfectly of the guardians comics, the comics are VERY comedic but mix the drama and character moments
KurtWagner1225 - 7/1/2014, 12:07 PM
Shabat, yes, its Tyler Bates,he worked on Gunns previous films, Slither and Super and also worked on films such as 300 and Watchmen
shabat - 7/1/2014, 12:07 PM
Ezio - have you seen it?
shabat - 7/1/2014, 12:07 PM
Thanks ezio
KurtWagner1225 - 7/1/2014, 12:09 PM
shabat-actually no, but everything from the trailers and such and mcnyaganos comments on it have made me really think that but of course, i will , at the end of the day, see that from myself
Gusto - 7/1/2014, 12:10 PM
I'm savin' my money 'til Nomis' new album drops.

KurtWagner1225 - 7/1/2014, 12:11 PM

blackandyellow - 7/1/2014, 12:13 PM
It better have some World Class Wrecking Cru from Dr. Dre's boy band days.

Jollem - 7/1/2014, 12:14 PM
TheGambitFreak - 7/1/2014, 12:14 PM
Dude, if they are smart about this, they'll release an actual cassette tape. I drive a 1981 Ford Ranger Lariat haha. It's either cassette, radio or auxiliary cord.
KurtWagner1225 - 7/1/2014, 12:18 PM
i hope we get "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins playing during the final aerial assault
DrKinsolving - 7/1/2014, 12:18 PM

Haha, they should include a cassette!! I think I might actually buy this album
blackandyellow - 7/1/2014, 12:18 PM
Cassette tape? I don't even know anyone that still buys CDs. Just buy that shit off of ITunes. Digital is so much more convenient.
Dayman - 7/1/2014, 12:20 PM

what other songs are in it that you remember??
DrKinsolving - 7/1/2014, 12:21 PM

KurtWagner1225 - 7/1/2014, 12:21 PM
Omgeadagod-thats what Pratt said
JorL5150 - 7/1/2014, 12:25 PM
Ok - that's speaking to MY generation right there.

I don't even care what's on it - but I want a poster of that.
MsDarkPhoenix - 7/1/2014, 12:27 PM
AWESOME!!!! But gusto ain't gonna buy it if there is no Miley Cyrus... :P
FerFogs - 7/1/2014, 12:27 PM
WOW that's so cool!
FerFogs - 7/1/2014, 12:28 PM
And it takes balls for them to have a cover like that and not the traditional poster variation.
Gusto - 7/1/2014, 12:30 PM
I just hope McGee's band has a track on it.

B&Y...aka B to THA Y

On horns...yours truly

And Special Guests The Jesus Macho Man Randy Savage Dancers

DrKinsolving - 7/1/2014, 12:32 PM
Even if "Ooh Child" is on it, it's most likely a remix, or remastered like the other songs, it still sounds like it'll fit
SuperDude001 - 7/1/2014, 12:32 PM
I know a few more independent and/or artsy musicians still release their stuff on cassette too, so it would be cool, but probably would've appeal to the masses so unlikely.
Either way I think it's definite this is an amazing sountrack, and if not the cover still looks amazing, much better than even some albums out these days.
blackandyellow - 7/1/2014, 12:33 PM
When we're on stage women throw adult diapers at Gusto instead of panties.
slickrickdesigns - 7/1/2014, 12:33 PM
That System of a Down album title is the best ever! Next to Fallout Boys "Our Lawyers Made Us Change The Title Of This Song So We Wouldn't Be Sued".
blackandyellow - 7/1/2014, 12:35 PM

License to Ill by the Beastie Boys was originally called "Don't Be A Faggot" but their lawyers made them change it.
slickrickdesigns - 7/1/2014, 12:35 PM
and yes I just realized thats not the name of an album... but still awesome regardless of how much FOB sucks.
