With an exciting initiative that offered a chance to win unique rewards and prizes, including a once-in-a-lifetime grand prize, Star Wars: Force for Change raised $4,261,410 USD for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Donations were received via fundraising platform Omaze from citizens of 125 countries and enough money was donated to fund the equivalent of 7-8 new UNICEF Innovation Labs. The grand-prize winner was D.C. Barns of Denver Colorado, who shared during on a donor video chat that the first time he saw Star Wars when it opened in theaters in 1977, when he was only five. "I loved it! ... I just couldn't get it out of my head of 35 years." D.C. was then asked to share his favorite Star Wars moment. As he began to reply, he was suddenly surprised in his Denver office by members of Star Wars: Force for Change team. Once settled, D.C. exclaimed, "This! This is my new favorite Star Wars moment!"

D.C. will enjoy a trip to London for himself and a guest, a behind-the-scenes visit to the Star Wars set, and will be fitted with a costume and filmed for a scene in Star Wars: Episode Vll.

UNICEF’s current network of 14 Innovation Labs help create sustainable solutions to critical issues facing children around the world in the areas of nutrition, water, health, and education. The funds raised through Star Wars: Force for Change will impact the lives of children around the world, through projects like MobiStation, a portable, solar-powered educational kit to ensure children have access to quality learning anywhere, and Rapid FTR (Family Tracing and Reunification), a mobile phone application that helps reunite separated and unaccompanied children with their families in natural disasters.

Disney committed US $1 million to support the launch of Star Wars: Force for Change. Star Wars continues to inspire generations of dreamers and doers to use their creativity to accomplish great things. Star Wars and Lucasfilm were built on the belief that in uniting creativity with innovation, you can make the impossible possible.

Definitely Luke's hand. Notice the little pistons in the wrist.

@Gusto

I'm sure you'll be the first to find out.

@gusto

You might have to use oil for lube! LOL
Tainted87 - 8/11/2014, 10:03 AM
It's a right hand, so it's likely Luke's.

I'm curious as to what this actually teases. It looks like a droid more so than a cybernetic hand. I would think if it was the hand of Luke or Vader there would be some skin tissue showing somewhere.
Danbojohnj - 8/11/2014, 10:06 AM
Yeah,looking like Luke's.

@Supercat

LOL at Robot Jox

MantiniuMan - 8/11/2014, 10:08 AM
Luke hand
Pox - 8/11/2014, 10:12 AM
Crash and Burn Supercat

(sarcasm)and this rules out Yuuzhan Vong involvement since the metal hand would be either covered in blood or broken in general(/sarcasm)

Could you imagine finger banging a broad with that hand? Her snatch might rust the finger joints.

I see my comment being deleted in the future!

I have faith in Abrams

CookieKid247 - 8/11/2014, 10:28 AM
Most likely just a droid. Luke has skin.
GUNSMITH - 8/11/2014, 10:29 AM
AWESOME WAY TO RAISE MONEY FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED IT...
CookieKid247 - 8/11/2014, 10:35 AM
@Contemplator
I actually thought was true excluding the space part. I heard it was in a swamp and someone travels to give the lightsaber back to Luke.

Also I'm going to need that guy's eye!
Gusto - 8/11/2014, 10:42 AM
Speaking of hands...I really need to lay off the Miley pics.

Japhath - 8/11/2014, 10:45 AM
I don't believe JJ is having fun with us. He is showing us as a teaser. It's Luke's hand and the skin is gone because of the atmospheric entry. It's a right hand and it's got the piston's just like Luke's hand.
slickrickdesigns - 8/11/2014, 10:53 AM
@Gusto
They have robots for that! Your so 2000 late...
blvdnoise - 8/11/2014, 10:57 AM
Yep.. Luke
Bobevanz - 8/11/2014, 11:06 AM
Not luke. Idiots.. just a simple robot arm. You guys are the worst detectives!
JediPhilosopher - 8/11/2014, 11:08 AM
It isn't Anakin. Anakin's dead. I was going to say too primitive looking to be Luke's, but maybe it did look like that. I sometimes remember things the way they should be rather than the way they were.
Nomis1800 - 8/11/2014, 11:08 AM
CAPSLOCK
JediPhilosopher - 8/11/2014, 11:09 AM
Bobevanz seems sure enough. :P
I'm willing to say it's probably a droid.
JorL5150 - 8/11/2014, 11:41 AM
If its only half as dumb as "into darkness" then jj Abrams will do the impossible:

Make a Star Wars movie even more retardeder than the prequels.

You go in seeking a masters degree, you leave thinking your favorite color is tuna fish.
wookiefit76 - 8/11/2014, 12:25 PM
It's not Luke's. If you look at the wrist you can see part of a metal sleeve.

gulducati - 8/11/2014, 1:14 PM
Way to bring more diversity to the cast. Another white dude!
