A Number Of CAPTAIN AMERICA Characters Rumored For An Appearance In ANT-MAN

It sounds as if Marvel will continue to flesh out their Cinematic Universe in Ant-Man as a number of familiar faces will apparently make an appearance during some flashback scenes featuring the young Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). You may just be surprised by who makes up this list...

Latino-Review are back with yet another Marvel Studios scoop, this time on Ant-Man. If you recall, there were reports around the time that Edgar Wright departed the project that the studio had sent his and Joe Cornish's script off for rewrites to better integrate the film into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (it had after all been in development since long before even Iron Man was released). An early version of the revised script apparently featured a scene with Hank Pym going to a meeting at S.H.I.E.L.D. with Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, Arnim Zola and a young Alexander Pierce. Whether this is a scene which makes it into the final cut isn't clear, and we're not entirely sure when the meeting takes place - following WWII seems unlikely given Douglas' age, so the 60s seems like a safe bet - but it's certainly a clever way to tie this movie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wouldn't you say? My bet would be that S.H.I.E.L.D. tries to recruit the original Ant-Man...

I wonder if McKay kept them in.
MrCBM56 - 8/14/2014, 11:08 AM
LOL. Silly Latino-Review. This is actually from the fake script I wrote a couple months back! Sorry for the confusion
JoeMomma29 - 8/14/2014, 11:08 AM
LOL! I am still holding out some hope for this movie! And of course they will throw in some other characters to tie this into the MCU, or they just could have tied this with Ultron............
TChalla - 8/14/2014, 11:10 AM
This is gonna be awesome!!! :D
Pasto - 8/14/2014, 11:11 AM
Seems legit.
TheManFromMars - 8/14/2014, 11:11 AM
I'd like this to be true, but I won't hold my breath.
TChalla - 8/14/2014, 11:12 AM
Hmm who could play a young Pierce? Of course he might show up in Agent Carter first right?
themidnightking - 8/14/2014, 11:12 AM
[frick]ing sweet!
TheAbaryMan369 - 8/14/2014, 11:13 AM
Here's the thing: As cool as this may be, what is the actual point of it? Marvel wanted to develop more of the whole SHIELD/HYDRA thing and I get that, but why risk losing one of your best directors when you could just wait until Cap 3?
themidnightking - 8/14/2014, 11:13 AM
I hope this happens
MCUfan1 - 8/14/2014, 11:14 AM
Why do we have to have an old Hank Pym thanks alot Edgar. They could have used Blizzard or Whirlwind or Claw. P.s I haven't read the comics only watched EMH.
MrBlackjack - 8/14/2014, 11:15 AM
That actually sounds awesome! But LR...

They're one a slippery slope to say the least.
0megaDaGod - 8/14/2014, 11:15 AM
Damn

That sounds like an incredible scene. Hopefully if Agent Carter gets a season 2 all those actors including Young Pym will be involved in some capacity

I'm still super intrigued by this movie
npamusic - 8/14/2014, 11:16 AM
Shweet.
SmellofDuty - 8/14/2014, 11:17 AM

Doopie - 8/14/2014, 11:17 AM

NightWatcher - 8/14/2014, 11:18 AM

SmellofDuty - 8/14/2014, 11:18 AM

This will be my fav marvel movie I just know it
HAILHYDRA - 8/14/2014, 11:23 AM
I'm usually the last one to buy into El Mayimbe's "scoops" but at least this one sounds plausible.

@NightWatcher
I LOVE THAT GIF!!!

@cipher
I love how retarded the Kardashians are. I watch their shows whenever there's nothing else on because it's comedy gold to see how thick skulled they are.
TheAbaryMan369 - 8/14/2014, 11:25 AM
Marvel made a choice when they decided to leave Hank Pym out of Avengers and keep him away from Ultron. They chose to keep him stand-alone, now they should honor that by keeping him out of whatever else is going on in the MCU and have this movie seriously be by itself. Why would you just throw away Edgar Wright for this?
NoAssemblyReqd - 8/14/2014, 11:25 AM
Wouldn't it be great if this movie contained epic action sequences to rival GOTG and AVENGERS? Imagine big battles -- at small scale.
bobevanz - 8/14/2014, 11:25 AM
Le sigh..
charlie2094 - 8/14/2014, 11:26 AM
Sounds interesting! Be a cool addition and tie in to the MCU.
kinghulk - 8/14/2014, 11:29 AM
theabaryman- clearly they made a mistake trusting edgar wright they should have let whedon use pym and wasp in avengers.
RynerLute - 8/14/2014, 11:29 AM
Wait , what?

Marvel actually has plans to show young Hank in the MCU? Which means young Janet? And they're possibly the very first candidates for a potential Avengers Team that was spear headed by Howard, Peggy & Pierce in the 60's?

Who woulda thought.

HAILHYDRA - 8/14/2014, 11:31 AM
@TheAbaryMan369 it was Edgar Wright who came up with the idea to put Pym in the past.
Nomis - 8/14/2014, 11:33 AM
@ MrCBM56 - I HATE that dancing tree you have for an avatar... but it's moving well to the beat of the '80s classic funk classic "Genius of Love" by the Tom Tom club (talking heads) that I'm playing here at work right now.
yossarian - 8/14/2014, 11:33 AM
Dingbat - 8/14/2014, 11:33 AM
That actually sounds cool but we all know how reliable LR is.
cipher - 8/14/2014, 11:34 AM
Nova- Ha, seriously.

I think I'm going to start filling up the DVR with that shit just to see how long it takes for my girlfriend to notice and say something.
