ARROW's 'Ra's Al Ghul' To Be More "Comic Book-y" Than THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY

Don't expect to see Arrow's Ra's al Ghul bear too close a resemblance to the one seen in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy as some new details have emerged which reveal that he will be a lot more "comic book-y" along with more on what brings him to Starling City...

Liam Neeson said he would be willing to reprise the role of Ra's al Ghul in Arrow, but we now know that Riddick's Matt Nable will actually offer a different interpretation of the iconic Batman villain in The CW series. Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, and he had this to say about their take on the leader of the League of Assassins. "Now that the Arrow/Flash universe contains people with powers and contains the Mirakuru serum, it gives us a bit more license to be a little more ‘comic book-y’ than certainly even Christopher Nolan set out to do," he teased. It's going to be interesting to see what he means by that, though the first look we got at Ra's in an extended trailer certainly indicated that this version would be a fair bit different! So, what brings him to Starling? "A lot of the themes for Oliver’s journey that we were discussing this season are wrapped up in identity. Can he be both Oliver Queen and the Arrow? A lot of that turned out to get tied up with what we thought of Ra’s al Ghul and who he was and where he came from and what his ultimate goals are. All of those things lined up perfectly."
