Jennifer Kent Wasn't Approached For WONDER WOMAN, But Has Talked To WB About...

The Babadook director Jennifer Kent has now revealed that she was never approached by Warner Bros. for Wonder Woman, but that the studio did fly her to America to court her for a number of other high profile projects. Could one of them be an upcoming DC Comics movie?

Jennifer Kent was named by some sites as one of the frontrunners for the Wonder Woman directing gig, but it turns out she never actualy talked to the studio about the project! "I was, for the record, never asked -- Warner Brothers did fly me to America, actually, and I can say that -- but they never asked about Wonder Woman," she tells IGN Movies. Of course, flying her to the states to meet about a number of projects must mean that they're pretty high profile, so could it be that they're eyeing Kent for another of the upcoming superhero movies like Aquaman or The Flash

"And that's fine by me," the filmmaker added about not being approached for Wonder Woman. "But they did ask me about a lot of other projects, which I'm now slowly reading through. I'm very, very open to it. But again, I've got two films that I'm writing -- I'm a writer-director; I can generate my own material -- but I'm open to stories that move me, that suck me in. I'm looking to find writers to collaborate with on stories that I could direct, for sure. And I'm not opposed to directing films in America. I don't see myself in the tentpole arena; maybe that's disappointing to genre-makers, but you know, I'm open. It just really has to be an idea that grabs me like The Babadook grabbed me -- then I'll follow it to the ends of the Earth." It looks like we're going to have to wait and see then, but Kent does seem open to the idea of tackling this type of movie if that is indeed what the studio have offered her. What do you guys think?
