UPDATE: Michelle Rodriguez Addresses "Rumors" She'll Play JUSTICE LEAGUE's 'Green Lantern'

There have been rumours (well, it's more like speculation actually) that Fast & Furious star Michelle Rodriguez will play the Jessica Cruz "Green Lantern", but the actress has entirely dismissed those reports and urges Hollywood to "stop stealing all the white people's superheroes"...

It's hard to say where this "rumour" began. However, it appears as if a few comic book sites suggested that Michelle Rodriguez would be an interesting choice for Jessica Cruz/Power Ring instead of Hal Jordan or one of the other male Green Lanterns, and it's this which led to a few film blogs running with the story like it was an actual rumour rather than just speculation. Regardless, TMZ asked the actress about these reports recently, and she's not interested in being cast for the sake of it. "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard,. I think it's so stupid because of this whole minorities in Hollywood thing. It's so stupid. Stop stealing all the white people's superheroes. Make up your own. What's up with that?" She doesn't appear to be joking (and clearly isn't aware that the Green Lantern she's rumoured for isn't white to be fair), but her comments do seem to reflect those of a fans who would rather see more minority characters brought to the big screen instead of others being changed. UPDATE: The actress has now released a video statement via Facebook to clarify her comments, making it clear that she had no intention to offend, and expressing her desire for Hollywood to stop taking white characters and forcing them to fit another culture. Instead, she would prefer to see characters of another race have their own mythologies built around them. What do you think?

Let's see, a small scrawny Jew is Lex Luthor, a scrawny Jew is wonder Woman, a scrawny Jew is Flash, Lois is a decade older than Clark, Perry is black. jimmy is a woman, an Atlantic King is played by a Pacific Islander, and the most popular actor of this entire cinematic universe will be playing a villain in their smallest movie.

This casting choice is right up DOc's alley.

Dumb move Rodriguez...You've been complaining for months that you're sick of being casted as a big bitch role in movies and you've been wanting a big breakout role...This could've been it.

Safe to say I prefer Jordana Brewster/Jessica Alba as Jessica Cruz but that's just me.

For those wondering where these 'rumours' come from, type in green lantern on google news and you'll find some guy's made two fancast articles about how he thinks WB will cast Rodriguez as Cruz.

I know that people on this website will perceive it as a 'complaint,' but she's just pointing out a fact. I'd like to see some actual minority superheroes used that already exist; or, like she said, make a new one.
