@grif, but why would you wish that on a franchise that so many people love? If you don't like Star Wars thats fine, but would it kill you to just let the fans enjoy it?

Soooo..... This was supposed to blow the hinges off of Comic Con? A concert in the park? A behind the scenes video? The Chittlin' Circuit meets the newbies?

This is what people waited in line 2 days for? This is what people claimed was gonna steal the thunder from DC? Or, was that just wishful thinking from the DC haters?

I mean, don't get me wrong, I like SW & all, but there's no way this makes a dent in what DC has planned, let alone even gets talked about after the Con is over. SW has already blown their wad, while DC has been slow cooking for the past few days, with reveals on the new shows, new books, & new animation. And Zack Snyder did a drive by in the Batmobile last night!!

Just sayin', WB is putting the "DC" in SDCC.

@clarkman: Actually, some of the names for the characters in Star Wars came from Gorge Lucas' children's names for excrement.

"Jar Jar Binks"

"Gungans"

It's true.

That's Gorge Lucas, Mexican cousin of George Lucas.

it's very telling that people kept cheering whenever someone mentioned that they were using PRACTICAL effects instead of CG.

and the SMaRTEST thing Lucas has done so far for this movie, was not show his face at all in the behind-the-scenes video or anywhere in the promotions.

either that......or Disney is telling him not to show himself at all. this way, people can call him "genius" and his absence from the promotional stuff gives that description a little validity as if he still has an overshadowing influence over the production.

and with Kasdan and Abrams talking like the whole movie is a collaborative effort, instead of a maniacal egotist's wet dream, it gives me hope that VII will be a marked improvement over the CRAPTASTIc prequels.
