While the first movie was met with a negative reaction from fans and critics alike, the buzz surrounding the sequel has been far more positive. Those lucky enough to have seen the trailer at Harry Knowles' annual "Butt-Numb-A-Thon" praised what so far appears to be a much improved take on the beloved characters. Thanks to Twitter's @Cine__Heroes we have a lengthier version of some of the trailer in this Entertainment Tonight footage.

And is that Cobra Commander with Firefly at 0:42? I know Sommers said that the mirror mast would be in the sequel but obviously a lot has changed since he said that.

it does look to be better then the last, and yes ill have to watch this, being an early 80s baby i kind ahave o watch gi joe, same goes with transformers, he-man and thundercats.

Actually, most of the key Cobra villains are like in somesort of prison. The only one killed off was Storm Shadow, but it seems like he is back.

I honestly hoped that Cobra Commander, Scarlett and Ripcord were to return for this film; Duke, however, I wish a different actor replace the one who is already playing him.

Cool! Jinx was my favorite character after the G.I. Joe animated movie! Glad she made it to the big screen! I enjoyed the 1st one, but it seemed a bit too high techy for an origin movie...this one looks a bit more dirty. I can't wait!

Always figured they were going to bring back Storm Shadow. He falls into the icy water at the end of the 1st. Easy enough to explain off that that's how he survived!

As much as I didn't like Tatum as Duke, if they choose to kill him off that's an even dumber move. Hopefully he just gets kidnapped for most of the movie...

... and where is Flint's beret?
