Another AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Scene Description Reveals A Potentially Major Spoiler

A description of a scene which takes place between Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) not only gives us an idea of the type of humour we'll see in the movie but also a potentially big plot spoiler.

In another brief excerpt from Empire Magazine's fantastic report on The Amazing Spider-Man, we have yet another scene description this time giving us a better idea of the tone that the movie will have in terms of humour. A potentially major spoiler is also revealed. However, for even more details on the movie and exclusive interviews with director Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, be sure to pick up the issue when it goes on sale next week.

Webb agonises for a second ("I don't want to blow my wad here"), then concedes and cues up a cute, winsome cladestine encounter between Peter and Gwen that includes some rat-a-tat dialogue that wouldn't be out of place in a screwball comedy. "You should see the other guy," sighs Parker. "The other guy in this case being a giant mutant lizard."

Of course, it's worth noting that we've already seen an official still from the movie (above) where Gwen is attending to Peter's wounds. Whether she believes them to be the result of an attack he was involved is unclear, although the dialogue above does indicate that she may know he's Spider-Man and the scene takes place AFTER a fight between the iconic Marvel superhero and Rhys Ifans' villainous Lizard. Sound off with your thoughts on all of this in the usual place.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

RELEASE DATE: July 3rd, 2012.

DioFoRio - 12/17/2011, 3:15 PM
I've yet to blow my "was"
DioFoRio - 12/17/2011, 3:17 PM
as long as when he's got the mask on jumping from criminal to criminal busting heads and busting jokes. I'll be stoked. Didnt like the "useless" change of the costume at first....but it looks fine...it's red blue and has the same feel as the original in the pics...plus actual web-shooters?!?! [frick] yeah. that organic shit was retarded.
DioFoRio - 12/17/2011, 3:18 PM

BreakTheCode.... Yes. I was going to say something to you but all I could come up is with yes.
Spidey91 - 12/17/2011, 3:25 PM

it all depends in how Garfield delivers the line.
BreakTheCode - 12/17/2011, 3:26 PM
@grifter I'm a huge spidey fan but this does not look good at all.
Spidey91 - 12/17/2011, 3:26 PM

StingrayX - 12/17/2011, 3:26 PM

ThreeBigTacos - 12/17/2011, 3:29 PM
Good actual humor, that's what Raimi's missed!
grifter - 12/17/2011, 3:30 PM
BreakTheCode.... Why is that? List the reasons this does not look good. I will list why they are.
Amazo - 12/17/2011, 3:32 PM
As things are revealed I get more into this movie and less into The Avengers. This seems deeper than the latter.Don't get me wrong,I enjoy silly action pics, but I rewatch movies that have some meat on the bones.
marcoseus - 12/17/2011, 3:33 PM

grifter - 12/17/2011, 3:33 PM

grifter - 12/17/2011, 3:34 PM
@Ruka... I see now that english isn't your first language. I forgive you for your transgressions. I am sure you mean that this movie will be the shit. As in this movie will kick ass.
BreakTheCode - 12/17/2011, 3:35 PM
-looks more like a love story than a spiderman film
-lame suit
-no j jonah jameson
-another origin film when we already know spidey's origin
-lizard does not have enough substance to be the lone villian
kylum616 - 12/17/2011, 3:42 PM
as a spidey fan i fell dirty with every passing news on this movie agree with break and ruka
grifter - 12/17/2011, 3:43 PM
@Breakthecode

-Spider-man is about love and loss. Because of the love in his life we identify with him more. The stakes are raised on an emotional level. Besides, he needs someone to confide in.

-I let the suit slide, because I know that if this one does fantastic... we'll see an alteration.

-Yes this is an origin movie, but Parkers parents tie into this more. I bet we may see venom again seeing as how his father in the ultimate universe created the symboite suit.

-Who is the Lizard was the lone villain? I bet that Osbourne is behind the shadows, seeing everything and controlling it to an extent.

-J. Jonah Jameson does not a Spider-man movie make. He was there for laughs. Nothing more.
grifter - 12/17/2011, 3:44 PM
@Ruka, you mad? Don't be baby cakes.
soberchimera - 12/17/2011, 3:46 PM
I hope we see Lizard in the next trailer. They kinda have to if they want to generate interest. Especially after the new batman trailer because I know I'm gonna save my money to see that as many times as fiscally possible.
BreakTheCode - 12/17/2011, 3:49 PM
@grifter well i hope you're right i hope this movie is good, if so i will gladly take back what i said.
batmanrises - 12/17/2011, 3:49 PM
"You should see the other guy," sighs Parker. "The other guy in this case being a giant mutant lizard."

SageMode - 12/17/2011, 3:50 PM
@BreakTheCode:
"-lizard does not have enough substance to be the lone villian"

Lizard is probably one of the many Spider-Man villains that have substance. Lost his arm, an accident regrow it goes bad, turns him into a monster while he himself is an innocent man. Killed his family while in Lizard form later on in the comics, etc. He's pretty much The Incredible Hulk, but instead turns into an evil humanoid lizard.
PaulRom - 12/17/2011, 3:50 PM
Heh, the entire movie's gonna be in first person? I didn't know that.
I'm very excited about this movie now. While the first two Raimi films were pure gold, the promise of a Spider-Man film much closer to the comics sounds fantastic. Glad to see Spidey bringing in some humor as well, at least more than taunting a wrestler's sexuality.
grifter - 12/17/2011, 3:51 PM
Ruka... is it your dick I am sucking? Or do you just want me to find some dude on the street? Tell me what to do exactly and I will!

@break... we will see. I was just talking out my ass with that stuff :P
thewolfx - 12/17/2011, 3:51 PM
shit suit

shit movie? ..it remains to be seen
BreakTheCode - 12/17/2011, 3:52 PM
this whole movie is in pov? than its certain this is gonna be a train wreck.
grifter - 12/17/2011, 3:52 PM
Honestly, I know if that line was said in the theater it would get a laugh. Harmless little joke.
scapegoatjones - 12/17/2011, 3:53 PM
the question all these threads seem to be asking is what will be the BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT in the CBM'S of 2012:

a. the casting of Spidey (Garfield)
b. the casting of Banner (not Norton)
c. the lack of Wasp/Antman
d. the selection of Bane as villain
e. nic cage
headlopper - 12/17/2011, 3:53 PM
@BreakTheCode- Agreed.I have major reservations about this incarnation of Pete.

@grifter- I like your thought process in defense of the film- it's very logical and hard to argue against. Just ONE major disagreement: JJJ is a major player in the ASM world. He's not just comic relief at all!

Maybe in the movies he seemed that way(not disputing that), but in the comics, he's HUGE-! in Peter's world. HUGE. Indispensable.
cherokeesam - 12/17/2011, 3:54 PM
@ruka: Don't be mad, bro. Hey, I'm pretty impressed that a dog can actually type on a keyboard. So what are you, a doberman or some kind of mutt, judging from your pic? Nice avvy, dawg
RunDTC - 12/17/2011, 3:55 PM
@NotU: also.. f. the casting of Hathaway as Catwoman
SageMode - 12/17/2011, 3:57 PM
@BreakTheCode:
"this whole movie is in pov? than its certain this is gonna be a train wreck."

Where was the indication that this movie is gonna be in first person? Or is that what you meant?
