I enjoyed the first movie, I hope the second one won't disappoint.

I love Thor, but Act I was much stronger than II or III.

I hope the filmakers now realize that nobody cared about ANYTHING that took place on Earth in Thor 1. The only truly great parts about the first film(aside from a few very funny fish out of water jokes) were the scenes off Earth.
Aside from very brief opening and closing scenes on Earth, the entire second movie should be set entirely in other realms and should revolve around a war on Asgard.

Lots of movies go through this sort of thing and turn out great, lots don't! At this point all we know is that for whatever reason Marvel are unhappy with whatever script draft ..if they even have a full one..on their lap and want a fresh take. No biggy..but coupled with the other problems the movie has had I wouldn't blame a fan for worrying either.

WHAT WOULD BE COOL: LOKI IMPRISONS JANE FOSTER AND THOR MUST TRAVEL THE NINE REALMS, BATTLE IMMENSE CREATURES AND BEAT IMPOSSIBLE ODDS TO GET HER BACK.

This was to be expected.Whenever a new director is brought onto a film, he/she will want to put their own stamp or vision on the film.And that means giving the script some rewrites, usually with a new writer.

No shit they hired someone to rewrite Don Payne's script! He sucks! Marvel was damn crazy to let him write it by himself to begin with.

Intruder, you seem extra irked today, is it because TDKR is already ahead of The Avengers at the box office?

He has a lot of estrogen. It's important not to take him seriously, kind of like a wife. It's okay Intruder. They're fine tuning. Thor 2 will better than TDKR and any other Nolan movie.

Perhaps Patty wasn't down with any of the script changes and didn't want to make the movie Marvel wants. Now that Marvel has a yes man for a directer, they can do whatever the heck they want with the script.

I'm not saying the movie will be terrible, I'm just saying I see Taylor as the kind of guy that doesn't want to piss the studio off because he finally has his chance, and he doesn't want to blow it. I thought the original Thor is the second best movie Marvel made behind Iron Man, and I hope they don't give us a rushed remake for the sake of a remake.

If the script isn't good, just wait. There is no rush. Who's to say you can't have Iron Man 3, then make an Avengers 2, then revisit Thor 2 after that. Everything about this movie just gives me a bad feeling, from the director changes, Natalie Portman saying she might not be down for a sequel, to yet more script rewrites.

I think Jenkins and Branagh did. Even Favreau had some, remember he is the reason RDJ got the role of Iron Man. He wouldn't have done it, if not for RDJ. So far Marvel has done well with choosing their directors.

But like I said my only concern with this movie, is making one for the sake of making it. With Thor there is no room for error. If the next movie ends up like Green Lantern you will not see another Thor solo movie for a long, long time. He's not a franchise like Spiderman or Batman, that can withstand a terrible movie because they can reboot it. He's just not a popular enough character.

Anyway, I just hope if everything is not perfect that reasonable heads will prevail and they shelve this until everything is perfect. I'm not saying it will take until 2016, but if it needs to be pushed back a year, year and half to make everything perfect then so be it. Like you say with Batman you don't like what you have seen, I just haven't liked what I heard with a Thor sequel. But I will be glad to eat my words if I am wrong.

I agree, I don't think that everyone is aware of how big The Avengers will be Intruder. But having said that, once the receipts come back I think they will re shuffle the deck, and prioritize everything to revolve around the Avengers franchise which I firmly believe will be shot back to back. I don't think anything will be set in stone until mid to late summer. I know these properties have release dates, but us comic book movie fans know that is all relative. A lot can change, especially after you find out you have on of the very few, billion dollar franchises on your hands.

I'm more concerned that Rodat dropped off the face of the earth after Saving Private Ryan & The Patriot, then came back...10 years later...for Falling Skies?? I kinda dig Falling Skies, but the writing isn't really stellar...

...dunno, maybe it was personal, but he took off just as he was getting hot. Marvel consistently demonstrates extremely shrewd business tactics. It may pay off, may not, only time will tell...but it's certainly not alarming. A new director was just brought on, rewrites are inevitable. Scooping up an obviously talented writer who seems to be just getting his feet wet in the industry again...that's just clever.

Let's just hope he's knocked all the rust off...
