THE AVENGERS

Robert Downey Jr. on Iron Man: "Tony Stark is open to all possibilities and has no problem accepting extraordinary happennings. Joining The Avengers team is an act of curiosity - he wants to see what's happening first-hand. He realized a while ago that he's not an island and this time around he is beginning to understand that it's about a group mindsent and that 'we' is better than 'I.'"

Chris Evans on Captain America: "Big parts of Steve Rogers are his good nature, high morals and strong values. Those morals and values were created in a time when people treated each other differently. The level of interaction was a bit deeper. Everything feels one step apart with all of the technology we have now. A lot of the things that he believed in, stood for and loved have changed. They're not gone - they're just different. He's trying to find his footing in a modern world."

Chris Hemsworth on Thor: "Thor has more of a personal investment in what's happening than the other Super Heroes becuase Loki is his brother. The bigger conflict for him is that he's trying to protect the greater good, but he has some deep questions about what is going on with his brother."

Mark Ruffalo on The Hulk: "This Hulk is mercurial. He's very unpredictable; he's nuanced. There's a sense of humor there; there's an ability to communicate. But he's bristly and he's incredibly dangerous, like a wild animal. His rage feels real; his reactions to things feel human."

Jeremy Renner on Hawkeye: "Hawkeye is alone in the game, an outcast and a loner; he’s a lone wolf sort of character, so he’s not a team player, but will be there if needed."

Scarlett Johansson on Black Widow: "Black Widow is all business. She’s sort of in a grey area. In a sense she’s been fighting the good fight, despite her dark background. But she’s committed because she has to be and her moral ground is more dutiful. She’s militaristic in that way; that’s how she knows right from wrong."

THE AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Samuel L. Jackson on Nick Fury: "Nick Fury monitors a lot of things and when he sees a need he generally goes against the grain; he rubs a lot of people the wrong way by taking actions in situations that they don’t necessarily want him to take action in but he does anyway."

Cobie Smulders on Maria Hill: "Maria Hill and Nick Fury butt heads constantly. I think that Maria is a little bit more intuitive than Nick. But throughout the course of the film, she realizes that he is involved and he does care, and he is taking the right steps to protect our country and fight the bad guys."

Clark Gregg on Phil Coulson: "When you look at the team, it's made up of rock stars and divas with giant muscles and super-powered egos, so somebody has the job backstage to make them all play in the same super band—and that’s what Agent Coulson does."

THE VILLAIN

Tom Hiddleston on Loki: "Loki’s villainy is motivated by the fact that he’s damaged and searching for his place in the universe, but in this film he’s a lot more menacing and a lot more powerful. He’s much more self-possessed. He’s also a god, so he’s more powerful than any human."

DukeAcureds - 3/30/2012, 4:07 PM
Shocktron for the sequel!
DukeAcureds - 3/30/2012, 4:20 PM
They should do a prequel. A prequel trilogy. Two of 'em. They should do 6 prequels to this thing! That'd be cool.
DukeAcureds - 3/30/2012, 4:20 PM
Oh wait, they did.
leo888 - 3/30/2012, 4:21 PM

ElChavo - 3/30/2012, 4:25 PM
DUde! It has begun!
CoolantTech - 3/30/2012, 4:26 PM
Well its good to see that Tony's not closed minded like alot of those type of people are, and it must really be interesting for Cap, all of the technology and everything, Thor too.

All interesting plot points, Joss Whedon needs to be commended- 'Thats so NON Bayish of him'
DukeAcureds - 3/30/2012, 4:27 PM
I flat-out NEED to know if Hawkeye is going to have a family and if they are all going to be assasinated and if it turns out to be Black Widow that did it and if Hawkeye finds out and whether or not Hawkeye then puts an arrow right between Black Widows eyes for being a traitor before the end of the movie.
Whew. Long sentence. Ultimates 2. Masterpiece.
OdinsBeard - 3/30/2012, 4:39 PM
i want the ending easter egg or post credits scene to be black widow walking up to Baron Von Struker and Madame Hydra, kneeling, handing over an artifact or piece of info and saying "hail hydra" ...
ralfinader - 3/30/2012, 4:52 PM
@Duke - As cool as Ultimates 2 was, I do not see Disney/Marvel going there on the big screen...I do not see that going down in the 616 either. To dark for what they have been setting up.
DukeAcureds - 3/30/2012, 4:55 PM
@ralfinader - I think you're right. Shame, though. Hawkeye has never been more badass than in The Ultimates.
Darlene1974 - 3/30/2012, 4:59 PM
I hope with all these overhyped advertisements and stuff, the actual movie will really do Justice... I really really hope so, all cos i want them to make 2, 3 sequels!!!!... And i dont care what anybody thinks about Green Lantern movie, i'm grateful that its even been made, and its not half as bad as bloody haters think... Hope it gets a sequel too... I Love All Superheroes Movies, Just Be Grateful They Are Even Made!... Cos I Am! And I Love COMICBOOKMOVIE.COM!!!! Amazing site, i check it out everyday without fail!!!!
DukeAcureds - 3/30/2012, 5:01 PM
Welcome aboard, Darlene.
RocketMadnessBoss - 3/30/2012, 5:03 PM
The only reason why Hawkeye is a loner is cause he isn't getting any screen time anyway, lol.
DukeAcureds - 3/30/2012, 5:04 PM
I can't WAIT for the sequel to the reboot of this thing! What the hell will I do, until then?!
BANE5000 - 3/30/2012, 5:05 PM
@OdinsBeard

Thats an awesome idea for the post credits scene...it would establish that soon Black Widow will betray the team and show that Hydra has survived since the war and may still have an agenda against the world, as well as Cap
Cartoon22 - 3/30/2012, 5:15 PM
who is the villians besides Loki!!! Argh i wanna know..
Wildaniel - 3/30/2012, 5:16 PM
Bobbi Morse(Mockingbird) and Carol Denvars(Ms Marvel) should be in the MOVIE!!!
ralfinader - 3/30/2012, 5:25 PM
@Duke - Yeah, that is hands down the...(wait for it!): Ultimate Hawkeye! (sorry Alan Alda)
SpideyQuad - 3/30/2012, 5:38 PM
@bagadoosh, your gif. should say…

… Hail to the King baby, hail to the King! :-)
OdinsBeard - 3/30/2012, 5:42 PM
BANE500@ you know it buddy! there's hearsay that she'll be in IM3 - how much more interesting would that make her in that movie if you know she's working with hydra? then a cap movie all about hydra and Avengers 2 is Masters Of Evil!

of course black widow will have been working for fury the whole time a la spider-woman during the bendis run. or to be more literal, like the EMH cartoon.
mgeoff88 - 3/30/2012, 5:51 PM
I really like what I'm hearing. Most of them are so spot-on with who the characters are.

Avengers Assemble!
Viking - 3/30/2012, 6:16 PM
@DukeAcureds What the [frick] is wrong with you man ? =S
GreyChaos13Zero - 3/30/2012, 7:47 PM
I liked what they said about Phil Coulson, Black Widow, and Hawkeye was interesting, would like to see how that plays out. hope it don't cut into his screen time tho?)
elessarundomiel2382 - 3/30/2012, 7:49 PM
@DukeAcureds .... What do you mean 6 prequels? Iron man, Im2, incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America.....um whats the sixth?
elessarundomiel2382 - 3/30/2012, 7:53 PM
@DukeAcureds....what the hell are u on about...sequel to the reboot. You havent even seen this one and ur wanting a reboot already? Seriously just be happy were getting an Avengers Movie. Stop hoping for aomething that may not happen
Rodimus9 - 3/30/2012, 8:24 PM
Elessarundomiel@ you forgot the first hulk movie.
BIGBMH - 3/30/2012, 11:18 PM
I don't expect to see very much from Hawkeye or Black Widow. While Steve, Tony, and Thor's description talk about what the characters are going through, Widow and Hawkeye's descriptions are pretty much simple characteristics. Not that I have a problem with that. They have to prioritize for this story to work.
ispeakdtruth - 3/31/2012, 12:17 AM
omg black widow and her Glock 19. please she is a waste of space. Yea u sure shooting them aliens down. She was a miscast.
marvel72 - 3/31/2012, 2:34 AM
who will get most screen time?

1st iron man
2nd captain america
3rd thor
4th nick fury
5th the hulk
6th black widow
7th hawkeye
8th coulson
9th maria hill
6of13 - 3/31/2012, 4:54 AM
@marvel72 Actually, I think Loki will get plenty of screen time. Hope he does. That would be awesome.

Also, I think screen time for Hulk, Thor, Cap and Iron Man will be equal.
UltimateTypeface - 3/31/2012, 5:44 AM
Loki is going to be a bad-ass in this flick. I wonder what he does to make his bro turn on him.

and WHO THE [frick] ARE THOSE BAD DUDES???
SentinelofLiberty - 3/31/2012, 8:36 AM
Good stuff! Only a month away now!

Darlene, welcome. Hopefully Tea will be here soon to give you the 'official' CBM welcome!
MiracleMe - 3/31/2012, 9:19 AM
What I'd love to see is Marvel adding a character like Black Panther, Ms. Marvel ,or even better, Vision and having the BALLS to NOT waste screen time with what has become the requisite origin. Have both the audience as well as the other characters in the film in the dark, as it were, re: the exact details of the new character's origins and only give small and subtle hints. Then use that mystery as a segueway (sp?) to a solo adventure.

As I write this it occurs to me I'm more or less describing Wolverine's arc. But I still think it could be done well, if not better and more effectively than in that case.

I'm just tire of so much screen time being used up showing how a character got to the point where he/she can do her/his thing instead of seeing that thing being done!
MiracleMe - 3/31/2012, 9:21 AM
*tired of so much...*
J0RELLC00LJ - 4/1/2012, 2:23 PM
I cant remember the date exactly, but, alittle while back I thought someone posted a possible spoiler about the death of Agent Coulson in this movie. (Which would totally suck, but bring the team together so much more.) If they wanted to tie in a Black Widow "Double Agent" flair to it may she could kill him post credits to take something (eg. Cosmic Cube, etc) to take to Hydra. Just brainstorming.

Btw, that is the big money shot Im hoping for, The After Credits scene, which are most of the time jaw droppers.

Hurry, Hurry Quatro de Mayo!
