Joss Whedon Reveals Who Would Win In A Fight Between Buffy And Black Widow Joss Whedon Reveals Who Would Win In A Fight Between Buffy And Black Widow

Ever wondered who would win if Black Widow and Buffy the Vampire Slayer were to face off in a fight? Marvel's The Avengers director Joss Whedon shares his in-depth take on the question.

Talking to USA Today, director Joss Whedon has offered a humorous (and extremely analytical) take on who would win if Black Widow and Buffy the Vampire Slayer were to come to blows. He also talks about his favourite comic books and more in the interview, so be sure to click on the link below to check it out in full. Don't forget to sound off with who YOU think would emerge victorious in the usual place.

"Buffy would go easy at first, but as soon as Natasha popped her with a Widow Sting, she'd start bringing some slayer brawn to the fray. Natasha's fast, but a couple of good connects and she's wobbling, possibly something broken -- she whips out her glock and now Buffy's dodging -- right where Natasha wants her. Natasha shoots the cable holding the steel barrels and they tumble onto Buffy, nearly burying her -- Buffy just arcs out of the way, grabbing the splintered cable and swinging directly onto Natasha, a bullet grazing her cheek as her feet land hard on the Russian's shoulders, sending her back flat -- crack! -- on the floor, Buffy wrenching the gun away and tossing it, fist ready for the final strike. Natasha, struggling to stay conscious, says the fight's over. Buffy agrees, but Natasha explains: She poisoned Buffy hours ago. That waitress that brought her salad …? Natasha smiles. The poison is dormant -- 'til it's activated by adrenaline. Buffy's eyes narrow. "Too bad I didn't use any." Wham! Natasha's out for the count, and Buffy's heading -- slowly -- to Willow for a mystical cleanse.

"That'd be my first guess."

So its a battle between a female hunter of vampires and a female Russian super spy who took on many global threats.

. . . I have to go with Black Widow, on the grounds that vampires in the Marvel Universe isn't really considered a major threat compare to advance alien race, mutant terrorists, supercriminals, egomaniacal gods/cosmic beings, interdimensional beings and Deadpool (especially Deadpool).

I would agree with this one. Although BW would have probably poisoned her with something else as well. Just for a fail safe.

Buffy FTW.

C'mon...she has super strength. Widow does not. If Widow got herself a little demon mojo she might stand half a chance.

Considering they're both highly trained martial artists who regularly spar far outside even their high level, this is definitely a tough one. If only one of them had super powers or something, that'd really...

...oh, wait.

Man, Joss Whedon is awesome. I wanna nerd out with this guy so bad! Friggin great hypothetical.

Also, after reading this, I really wish Sarah Michelle Gellar had been cast as BW. She just looks like she could be russian. AND sexy as hell w/ a cute little russian accent! maybe just add a lil padding to the outfit. But even ScarJo has lost it IMO. ;..( sorry guys, had to be said!

Gotta agree with Joss on this one. Buffy is to fast and strong and durable, Spider-Man fast and strong and durable...it would likely go down just as Joss described it.

And i totally miss those Wizard mag showdowns, didn't always agree, but fun reading.

Finally, something worthy of a fanboy debate!!! Buffy is the clear winner. Fighting ability MIGHT be a wash, but Buffy has superhuman strength (to quote Riley, "Spidey-strong" level), superhuman endurance, and superhuman speed. Straight-up fight leaves Tasha in a pool of her own blood. But, Tasha would be too smart for a "fair fight", so she would take Buffy out with a sniper rifle from a 1000 yards away.

Buffy's Physical attributes should be higher then Cap & Lower then Blade. So she has an advantage. Widow deals with these types of threats but she generally just runs away. So his plot to me, sounds accurate.
SkaarJones
SkaarJones - 4/10/2012, 1:01 PM
Actually, Slayers are stronger and more dangerous than vampires. Buffy's attributes should be higher than Blade's as well. I think Cap or Blade might take her on skill and weaponry, but not easily.
