Kevin Feige Reveals Who Owns The Rights To Quicksilver And Scarlet Witch

Marvel Studios presents "Marvel Avengers Assemble"—the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

"It's a little complicated," says Kevin Feige when asked about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in the above video interview with Hey U Guys at the European premiere of Avengers Assemble earlier today. "If they want to use them in an X-Men movie they could, if we want to use them in an Avengers movie we could." Well, I don't think any of us were expecting that! He also reveals that the same applies for the Skrulls (more than likely due to their connection to the Fantastic Four) but that doesn't come as too huge of a surprise. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are the children of Magneto and originated in the X-Men line of comics as a part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. This resulted in many fans reaching the assumption that they would never get a chance to appear in a future instalment of The Avengers ...thankfully, the door now seems wide open for Marvel Studios to bring them to the big screen! Be sure to watch the full interview above for some more interesting titbits on their plans, including a promising update on Ant-Man.
