The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Warner Bros. are moving ahead with a big screen adaptation of
Rascal Raccoon's Raging Revenge, an Oni Press graphic novel created by Brendan Hay and Justin Wagner. The studio has hired Matt Fogel to write the script, while
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas director Todd Strauss-Schulson is attached to helm the project. The movie will be a blend of live action and CGI and is described as being set in a place called Toonie Terrace, where good-natured Toonies rambunctiously and without fail outwit the Meanies, who are trying to do them in. The story is set in motion when Rascal Raccoon finally and unexpectedly kills his longtime nemesis, Jumpin’ Jackalope. Needing a new target, he sets his sights on the animator who created him. To be fair, this sounds like it could be a fun film (especially for the kids) but comic book fans are sure to be left feeling frustrated over the fact that Warner Bros. don't seem to be taking advantage of their stable of DC Comics characters.
