Vulture has conducted an experiment of sorts in order to find out which Avenger received the largest amount of screen time in Joss Whedon's superhero ensemble. They used a stopwatch and timed the entire film, making a note of when the characters listed below were on screen. They didn't time every split second cut of footage, instead making a note of the scenes in which they most prominently featured in. What follows are their results.

Hawkeye: 12:44

Thor: 25:52

Bruce Banner/The Hulk: 28:03

Black Widow: 33:35

Iron Man: 37:01

Captain America: 37:42

So, for those of you who had assumed that the film would be "Iron Man and The Avengers" (understandable after Robert Downey Jr. was given the spotlight in most of the trailers, TV spots and poster) it was in fact the First Avenger who had the most amount of screen time...just! The site go into much greater detail about the scenes they all featured in, so be sure to click on the link below to read the article in full. Perhaps most surprising about these timings is the varying amount of time each Avenger got, especially when it felt pretty equal during the film itself! The Avengers served as an introduction of sorts for Hawkeye (as the only character not to have prominently featured in a previous solo movie) so it's perhaps not that surprising he received the least amount of time. What do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.
