Universal In Talks To Release KICK-ASS 2; Jeff Wadlow Attached To Direct
Creator Mark Millar promised an announcement this month and here it is! Universal looks set to make Kick-Ass 2, and while talks with the existing cast are underway, it has been revealed that the sequel has a writer and director in the form of Jeff Wadlow.
Deadline reveals that Universal Pictures are in talks to make Kick-Ass 2, the sequel to Matthew Vaughn's 2010 movie based on the popular comic book series by writer Mark Millar and artist John Romita Jr. Jeff Wadlow is attached to direct the script that he has written, with production expected to begin this August. Talks are already underway with actors Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Wadlow (Cry Wolf, Never Back Down) wrote the script for Matthew Vaughn and the site reveals that it is already before Universal’s green-light committee with a deal set to close very soon.
