Catherine Zeta-Jones And Byung-Hun Lee Join The Cast Of RED 2

Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones and G.I. Joe: Retaliation star Byung-Hun Lee have joined the cast of Red 2, which also features Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and Helen Mirren. Read on for details.

Deadline reports that Summit Entertainment has cast Catherine Zeta-Jones (Rock of Ages) and Byung-Hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation in Red 2. They will join the returning cast members from the 2010 movie, while Dean Parisot (Justified) will direct the script by Erich and Jon Hoeber (Red). Lionsgate International will sell the film at Cannes, and the sequel (which will see the retired CIA operatives taking on a new threat in Europe) is set to be released on August 2nd, 2013. Personally, I wasn't a fan of Red, but are you all looking forward to this follow-up? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

it was cute for what it was but it didnt require a sequel. i mean honestly, how? it worked best as a stand-alone story

I always thought the same about Zeta Jones, the perfect Wonder Woman. and she can still do it.

I was not a fan of the first 'Red', It was alright.. I blame the music from the film.

I'm intrigued because this is directed by the man behind 'galaxy quest' tho

DC blew it when Joss Wanted to re-do Wonder Woman and they turned him down.

The first one was an average, fungible movie. It was good for free on Showtime and I anticipate going the same way with the sequel.

It was a long time since she was in a new movie, but Im looking forward to this. CZJ is amazing!

I saw the first movie, well it was ok but it was not that good, I hope this will be much better!

Wow - I wasnt really fussed about RED2 as (like others here have said) the first is a fairly stand-alone flick. I was of the opinion that if they made a sequel I'd probably watch it sometime somehow but the addition of Zeta-Jones to the cast has slapped the lid on the coffin and hammered ALL the nails in at once.
She is dire...

All I care about is if Karl Urban is a part of the cast. I read an article - the one about him selling his house - that mentioned he would be. Can anyone confirm that? His "F- you, Cynthia" was the best bart of the first movie!

Hmm, isn't the original comic book series just a one-shot miniseries, that kind of thing? It just seems odd to me that people keep on doing all these unnecessary sequels stuff. Zeta-Jones and Hun Lee should be interesting additions, though, while I personally think the first movie wasn't great, but quite a good fun nonetheless. So, we'll see...if I have enough interest to follow the stories about this movie.

Saying that, i really liked Red.

Even thou smaller film & with Summit at least we are getting another DC on the big screen, I like Red I will go see Red 2 hopefull in 2012 we will get Wonder Woman live action similar to the 09 animated movie as far as the storyline.

Yes! I'm excited to see Catherine Zeta-Jones, she's a terrific actress, I've missed her! :(

and I have a huge crush on Byung-Hun Lee ...
