Almost every day over the past week has seen analyst after analyst predict that
Marvel's The Avengers would hit $1 billion by close of business on Sunday. Of course, the far more realistic and conservative estimates had it pegged at making around $950 million, instead crossing the landmark figure by tomorrow or Tuesday.
