BOX OFFICE: MEN IN BLACK Opens To $1.6 Million At Midnight Showings
Men in Black 3 is expected to take the top spot at the US box office after weeks of it being dominated by Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and it's off to a good start with $1.6M at midnight showings. Read on for details.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Men in Black 3 will indeed take the #1 spot at the North American box office this weekend, after taking an impressive $1.6 million at midnight showings last night. Was this boosted by the promise of a six minute sneak peek of The Amazing Spider-Man? Sony Pictures tells Deadline that they consider this to be, "Good. Expect a big day today, and kids to drive a huge Saturday-Sunday-Monday." Analysts meanwhile are currently predicting a Memorial weekend total of anywhere between $85M - $100M domestic and $200M overseas. Be sure to check out my 4* review of Men in Black 3 by clicking HERE
