Deadline reports that after hitting $398.8 million yesterday, Men in Black 3 has today passed the $400 million mark at the worldwide box office. After the tepid response to the second film (released over a decade ago) some analysts predicted that the threequel might struggle to surpass that movies box office total of $441 million. It should now have little trouble achieving that, while a few more strong weeks (and higher 3D ticket prices) might just mean that Men in Black 3 eventually ends up eclipsing the $589 million made by the first film in 1997. With a rumoured budget of $225 million, these figures might just be good enough to ensure a fourth movie, although Sony Pictures will more than likely want a smoother and more cost effect production next time around.
