Deadline reports that work seems to finally be moving ahead on a big screen adaptation of Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, Splinter Cell. According to the site, Warner Bros. had been in talks, but Paramount Pictures are now the frontrunner and look set to take on the project. This may not come as too much of a surprise as the studio are also currently hard at work on a few other Tom Clancy adaptations, including the Jack Ryan reboot from Thor director Kenneth Branagh. The studio has refused to comment, saying only that there is currently no deal in place. It may also come as a relief to fans to hear that Ubisoft plan on playing a very big role in how the video game adaptation is handled on the big screen.
