More good news for Marvel's The Avengers! Joss Whedon's superhero ensemble is now closing in on $600 million domestically (it dropped just 21% this weekend, making $7 million and taking its total to $598.3 million). Overseas, it has now made an incredible $837.9 million, meaning that Earth's Mightiest Heroes currently hold the #3 spot on the all-time highest grossing movies list with $1.436 billion worldwide. [Figures Courtesy Of @ERCboxoffice]

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Pixar's Brave has taken the #1 spot with an opening of $66.7 million, after it took $24.5 million on Friday and $23.5 million on Saturday. This is Pixar's 13th North American debut at the #1 spot in a row. Concerns that the animated feature would appeal only to the fairer sex proved to be unwarranted, with it having no issues reaching all ages and both genders. Brave's worldwide total is currently $80.2 million, although it has yet to roll out in many other territories. The news is nowhere near as good for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, after it took the #3 spot with $16.5 million following a disappointing $5.6 million Friday and $6 million Saturday. Word of mouth is not good on this one. However, Snow White and the Huntsman is still doing well as it closes in on a worldwide total of $300 million.

fantastic, glad to see it doing so well.can't see anything even coming close to this maybe the hobbit & the amazing spider-man.

marvel should try & buy back the fantastic four & daredevil rights out of the $1,436,000,000 this film has gross.
6of13 - 6/24/2012, 8:56 AM
I would love to see another Fantastic Four on the big screen.

And Simon Baker (The Mentalist) as Reed and Charlize Theron as Sue Storm.

SirGeneralGreatness - 6/24/2012, 9:05 AM
If this stays as the third biggest of all time, will they change that promo which stated it was number 1?
MadTitan - 6/24/2012, 9:08 AM
i'd rather see Spidey join the Avengers (Spider-man with the original storyline and not the reboot, to be precise) and leave Wolvie to the X-men.
thalidomide - 6/24/2012, 9:09 AM
Can't wait to see this again in Blu-ray.
jazzman - 6/24/2012, 9:12 AM

Seven23 - 6/24/2012, 9:14 AM

The priority for Marvel must be the FF rights. They bring in the most valuable characters. Spidey and Wolvie would agregate pretty much nothing except for BO money. And if they put Wolvie in the MCU they would probalby make him unkillable and indestructible, capable of taking on the Hulk or Thor which is ridiculous.
GreyChaos13Zero - 6/24/2012, 9:31 AM
that's cool for the Avengers, can't wait for that blu-ray?)

Gerrit - 6/24/2012, 9:32 AM
Ramon was just making an innocent nitpick, but it was uncalled for. But there's always someone who takes it to the next level. "I'm the Avengers' reckoning", LMAO so stupid.
MadTitan - 6/24/2012, 9:35 AM
they came and they conquered!

@thalidomide - i see that means your ahead of us in that episode.

in fact after two months ago after it's release The Avengers is the highest grossing film ever in RP history. talking about taking names, breaking records and kicking asses!

SirGeneralGreatness - 6/24/2012, 10:08 AM
When people mention Nolanites in an Avengers article your just as bad as them you dickheads. Glad to see Intruder has found a boyfriend though with MadTitan, they make a great couple. Although is gay marriage ok when your both only 14???
eleven59 - 6/24/2012, 10:15 AM
EMH- were only on the red skull episode which came out today. It's been nearly a month since beta ray bill episode came out.. Are we that far behind!!!??

I'd rather see spidey in the mcu than wolverine, but rather see doom, and the FF even more, plus DD just for safe keeping...
White - 6/24/2012, 10:15 AM
This make shit lot of money and so will TDKR... So no fights right? Let's just be friends and watch these movies.
Geeksiah - 6/24/2012, 10:17 AM
Marvel cannot buy back the Rights thy sold. the rights must revert. And that's not going to happen.

I wish people learn how movie rights work.

Now lets try this again.. Say it out loud...

Marvel can onl gain their characters back if the
movies are not produced or started on every 4 years, the movie no longer makes money or the Leasing company gives the rights back.

Say it, learn it
MadTitan - 6/24/2012, 10:18 AM
@SirGeneralGreatness

- i could have taken your comments more seriously if you yourself didn't acted like a douche yourself.

DragonofDarknessXIII - 6/24/2012, 10:23 AM
Congrats to The Avengers. Now its on to The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.

Avengers Assemble!
DrDoom - 6/24/2012, 10:23 AM
I agree with earlier comments. Spend all this money on acquiring the film rights to other Marvel properties. Marvel will make exponentially more money in the long run.
