CONFIRMED: Disney Animation Working On BIG HERO 6 For Marvel
Following reports yesterday that Marvel and Disney were teaming up for their first animated feature, it has now been made official. A movie featuring the Japanese superhero team is in the works. Hit the jump for a few more details.
Although a seemingly reliable source revealed this news yesterday, Entertainment Weekly now confirms that Disney is working on an animated feature based on the little known Marvel team, Big Hero 6. The film is apparently in the early stages of development, although the studio refused to comment on which filmmakers are involved at this point. Created in 1998, Big Hero 6 is a Japanese team sanctioned by the government. The roster originally included X-Men characters Sunfire and Silver Samurai, although it seems far more likely that this version will focus on the younger team who most recently made an appearance an "Ends of the Earth" Amazing Spider-Man tie-in comic book.
