Deadline reports that The Amazing Spider-Man and Savages are two of the latest acquisitions by FX. Both will reportedly air in late 2014. This has been a great year for the network as they have managed to pick up the rights to the likes of Marvel's The Avengers, Men in Black 3, Snow White and the Huntsman, Prometheus, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Battleship. Will you be waiting until The Amazing Spider-Man hits the small screen to watch it again or do you plan on pre-ordering the DVD/Blu-ray as soon as possible? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place. Check out my interview with Marc Webb HERE and be sure to click HERE to read my 4* review of The Amazing Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy

by the way.. I recently seen Battleship at my $2 movie theater.. It wasn't that bad.. it was entertaining.. aliens looked weird..only problem is the post invasion is not even shown, no rebuilding or humility.. its like nothing happened
Felt like transformers tho ha

iJackSparrow - 7/9/2012, 6:16 PM
I need to watch The Amazing Spider-Man at least more ten times in theaters before going for the blu-ray, but it's been years that I don't even care to watch anything on TV other than TV shows. But good for The Amazing Spider-Man.
HankHill - 7/9/2012, 6:26 PM
It would be better without all the got-dang commercial breaks.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/9/2012, 6:33 PM
Hey, FX....has the movies!lol
DragonofDarknessXIII - 7/9/2012, 6:40 PM
I'll buy the movie if it will have all scenes they took out in the final cut.
TheBigBoss917 - 7/9/2012, 6:45 PM
"Will you be waiting until The Amazing Spider-Man hits the small screen to watch it again or do you plan on pre-ordering the DVD/Blu-ray as soon as possible?"

Nope, neither, that film just made me appreciate Raimi's films even more unfortunately.
Spidey31 - 7/9/2012, 6:47 PM
I'm getting this TDKR and The Avengers all on Blu-Ray this was truely a great year for CBMs( let's hope TDKR delivers, I'm sure it will). But they're releasing it in 2014 right? Huh thry'll probably air it before TASM2 comes out.
JerBear - 7/9/2012, 6:51 PM
@TheBigBoss917
Sucks for you then
TheWebSlinger - 7/9/2012, 6:53 PM
TASM, The Avengers, and TDKR are all gonna be Bluray buys for me. This was an awesome year for CBMs.
WesleyGibson - 7/9/2012, 6:57 PM
That's pretty neat.
NOLANITE - 7/9/2012, 6:58 PM
First UFC from Spike and now this....

FX is like Wal-mart. Slowly but surely they're taking over.

No worries, Nolan wouldn't dare to let them nab rights.
superotherside - 7/9/2012, 7:04 PM
Cool. Not that I watch anything on TV. LOL DVDs are best. :)
Spidey31 - 7/9/2012, 7:12 PM
On instagram there is page that's called " Peter Parker" and it's a bunch of pics of Andrew Garfield lol. Girls love him, I put a pic of him on mancrushmonday and got a bunch of chics to like it lol:)
Wildaniel - 7/9/2012, 7:20 PM
FX really does have the movies, lol.
azziz99 - 7/9/2012, 7:26 PM

Alexandre - 7/9/2012, 7:29 PM
tivo set for 2014. DONE
Spidey31 - 7/9/2012, 7:32 PM
And I guess he also has a nice ass lolLololol
Niuhll - 7/9/2012, 7:38 PM
@Azziz99 It's not a TV show based on Spider-Man, but the film being shown on the channel.
TrueRedBlue - 7/9/2012, 7:50 PM
Of course. I still think it's pretty sleazy of them to show the old trilogy during the release of TASM, though. I understand they're taking advantage of the hype an all, but I think Webb and Sony are trying to distance away from the Raimi films. Showing the old is just bad marketing for TASM and just generally tainting the hype for the new trilogy..
Spidey31 - 7/9/2012, 8:04 PM
FX does have a lot of good movies and shows Wilfred is Awesome!
ATrueHero1987 - 7/9/2012, 8:05 PM
@TrueRedBlue- Sony is doing the same thing. Re releasing the Raimi trilogy on Blu Ray that comes with a digital copy & $10 off for a movie ticket to see TASM.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/9/2012, 8:09 PM
but I don't see how that's a bad thing.
DrainBamage - 7/9/2012, 8:19 PM
All of these networks like Spike and FX want to be USA. So they pick up these big movies hoping people will stick around for their original programming. At least that's my opinion any way.

Never been a huge FX watcher, except for It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (love that damn show).
BooYah - 7/9/2012, 8:29 PM
Will FX still be showing the original Spiderman? Rather watch that.
AlSimmons - 7/9/2012, 8:35 PM
This had me thinking TV show for a bit lol. That would never ever work with cable. Cable doesn't have the ratings, and thus the advertising money, to do something as special effects dependent as Spidey.
SageMode - 7/9/2012, 8:41 PM
My TV is going to explode from the EPICNESS.
TrueRedBlue - 7/9/2012, 8:45 PM
Well, regardless, I loved this film A LOT. So anything that let's me see it more, I'll welcome (:
Julesimanerd - 7/9/2012, 8:51 PM
@hankhill you're my new favorite member here.
HankHill - 7/9/2012, 8:59 PM
@Julesimanerd he he he well thank you! May I interest you in some Strickland Propane?
Spidey31 - 7/9/2012, 9:33 PM
Yea my guess is they'll show it too promote the sequel, this movie was so awesome and was just a teaser too something greater to come:)
Dunejedi1 - 7/9/2012, 10:07 PM
Way to go, FX. Let me know when you get the rights to the sequel, because after this steamer, I won't be paying to see any more Sony-Man in the theater.
Ichaos - 7/9/2012, 11:20 PM
Hmmm maybe they will start a Superhero Network
DoomXfactor - 7/9/2012, 11:54 PM
Ichaos- [frick]ing brilliant idea.
BenderDickCumPatch - 7/10/2012, 12:51 AM
Ill be getting Avengers, TDKR and TASM all on Blu-Ray.
ComicBookGoth - 7/10/2012, 1:10 AM
sameoldthing - 7/10/2012, 2:53 AM
@TrueRedBlue

It's not sleazy to show other Spider-Man movies..it reminds the casual viewer theres another Spidey flick out now & they ran the commercial for Amazing Spider-Man movie over & over.

Plus, those are good movies..far from perfect but this new one isn't spot on either.
AutobotCommander84 - 7/10/2012, 3:56 AM
Nolan doesn't get to make decisions on what network gets the rights to air the film on television. Warner Bros. does that.
BenderDickCumPatch - 7/10/2012, 4:32 AM
Well I cant wait for this on the small screen :)

redsonjustin - 7/10/2012, 6:04 AM
Great....Just two more years to watch it again. Unless I get the dvd.
PeterParker1991 - 7/10/2012, 12:31 PM
Good news. I'd rather buy the DVD. Can't stand commercials
Julesimanerd - 7/10/2012, 12:49 PM
@hankhill hell yes i would!
