RESULTS: What Do You Think Of The New IRON MAN 3 Armor?

Over 8,600 of you voted when we asked you what you thought of the Iron Man 3 armour revealed at this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con. With a drastically different look to Tony Stark's past suits (perhaps because it has something to do with Extremis) you may be surprised at the results!

It's no real surprise that Iron Man will be getting a new suit of armour in Shane Black's Iron Man 3 (Marvel wouldn't sell many toys if it was the exact same one as in The Avengers!), especially as the film will adapt the Warren Ellis and Adi Granov "Extremis" storyline. The suit which will seemingly use that technology was unveiled on the floor of the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, and after we asked you what you thought of the primarily golden suit, the results were very mixed. However, rather than judging a book by its cover so to speak, the majority of you decided that you need to wait until seeing it in action before making a final decision. Check out the results below and sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

It better serve a good purpose, and better not be some stupid ploy to sell toys. I will say it looked better in the photos that weren't as bright, but still a resounding meh from me.
GodzillaKart - 7/18/2012, 7:22 AM
@dgabbor: I actually like the armor but that is [frick]ing hilarious! LOL!
Superheromovie - 7/18/2012, 7:23 AM
I have to admit I dont like it that much. My favorite was the suitcase armor.
kingshnake - 7/18/2012, 7:25 AM
laaamme. iron man is red
Tainted87 - 7/18/2012, 7:25 AM
I have faith. They've designed some great-looking armors - they know when they make an ugly one.
supercajun - 7/18/2012, 7:26 AM
it looks organic, I like it.
averageBEAR - 7/18/2012, 7:30 AM
I love this armour its different and that is y i like it's it's about time tony change his armour because he has different colors so dont blame the people who came up with the design because they do a good job at it and what do u expect he is a comic book character they can do wat ever they want to do...BUT I LOVE THE ARMOR
Hatsas01 - 7/18/2012, 7:32 AM
Reminds me of an angry C-3PO
jakerbaker - 7/18/2012, 7:32 AM
It'll probably be like the spidey costume lookin better cinematically rather than pics
Gmoney84 - 7/18/2012, 7:33 AM
That pic above looks better because it's darker. The one on display at Comic-Con looked like garbage because it was too pale yellow where it should've been gold. I'm not thrilled with this armor. For example, why are the index finger and thumb yellow and the rest of the fingers red? That's stupid. It seems like they are just trying to be different and it's not necessary.
dmm5 - 7/18/2012, 7:36 AM
Looks nice! Why are people complaining that each suit needs a purpose? Not EVERY suit is built cause it has to be. You guys just NEED to complain about something huh? Haha Anyways, bring on Mark IX! Pure red suit with gold mask of course and mini repulsors everywhere :D
Greengo - 7/18/2012, 7:37 AM
Too beige
spiralblitze - 7/18/2012, 7:37 AM
the bastard child of big bird and robocop
Tainted87 - 7/18/2012, 7:37 AM
MarkV - 7/18/2012, 7:39 AM
Looks aggressive.
Greengo - 7/18/2012, 7:41 AM
Maybe his skin becomes part of the suit and that's why it is beige
BlackFlash - 7/18/2012, 7:42 AM
@avengersfiend - Thats why I like the this armor all of them were starting to look the same so a change needed to happen and for me it was a good one.
heisei24 - 7/18/2012, 7:42 AM
According to Black and Feige this suit is just one of many that will be in the movie.
Dedpool - 7/18/2012, 7:42 AM
Looks like the suit IM was wearing in the comics until recently.
R3dMust4ng - 7/18/2012, 7:45 AM
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttt.......
rookrey - 7/18/2012, 7:50 AM
Marvel can do no wrong....oh wait...did Howard the Duck really come from Marvel?
superotherside - 7/18/2012, 7:51 AM
I like it. Any flaws you may find with it will go away when you see it in live action. Much like the Avengers armor.
riddlemethis09 - 7/18/2012, 7:53 AM
The suit has some good style to it, definitely improves upon past looks with the new tech.
The first thing I thought when I saw the suit was that the "gold" looks more like a bone colored off white. Isn't the extremis armor stored within Tony's skeleton?
AlSimmons - 7/18/2012, 7:54 AM
I'd like it if the yellow was a little more metallic and brighter. Right now he just looks like old mustard.
ralfinader - 7/18/2012, 7:56 AM
I am not that into the suits, as long as they look better than Jonny Socko and his Flying Robot, I will have no issues. Besides, the reason I am digging Iron Man so much is more about RDJ than what he is wearing.
DanteSparda - 7/18/2012, 8:05 AM
I really like it, tought I don't know if I'm going to like it more than the one in The Avengers.

In my humble opinion the only change it needs it's the chest plate to be red, it would look way better, just picture it in your mind:

0ptimusCrime - 7/18/2012, 8:09 AM
Im with Dante, if the chest plate is red, it would be much better, and this is not gold, its Bailey color.
Kayo - 7/18/2012, 8:11 AM
no problema boss, it will look good in the movie.
GreenHalJordan - 7/18/2012, 8:12 AM
The problem I have is it's not gold, it looks more like old yellowish wax. Of course everything looks better on screen and thats why i voted ill wait.
Ceejay - 7/18/2012, 8:16 AM
It's perfectly fine as it is, I don't know what all the fuss is about, it's probably only for special use in one scene like the suitcase armour was in Iron-Man 2 for his fight at the race track.
BigHec - 7/18/2012, 8:26 AM
Personally I dont care how it looks,Cuz when Avengers 2 and Ironman 4 roll around, it will keep evolving...Wicked to see a real life Hall of Armors....
GUNSMITH - 7/18/2012, 8:26 AM
IT WILL GROW ON YOU, ONCE YOU START SEEING IT IN DIFFERENT LIGHTING AND THE ATTENTION TO DETAILS THEY PUT INTO IT..IT GROWS ON YOU...

Altair - 7/18/2012, 8:27 AM
I like it.
If we saw it in a black and white image, it would look so much like Bleeding Edge it's crazy.
DanteSparda - 7/18/2012, 8:28 AM
@monkeyballs

LOL he have different armors to show upgrade in his Iron man suits and because it's so fücking cool! I love his Iron man suits progression and you don't see me buying any Iron man toy, also they could still sell different toys without creating different armors.

And for the race track fight, he needed Stark cornered so he couldn't escape, also he needed to do it in public so everybody knew that he replicated the Stark's design to create his own suit (without the government covering it), in fact it looked like he didn't wanted to kill him, he just wanted to make the point.
Altair - 7/18/2012, 8:28 AM
The helmet is a different design for the first time since Mark II.
GUNSMITH - 7/18/2012, 8:30 AM

GUNSMITH - 7/18/2012, 8:33 AM
TO COMPARE CONTRAST FROM MARK VII FROM AVENGERS...
jonedc - 7/18/2012, 8:34 AM
113 - 7/18/2012, 8:39 AM
Looks like he barfed all over his armor and just never washed it off.
GUNSMITH - 7/18/2012, 8:41 AM
JUST CURIOUS WHY THEY WENT WITH GREY POUPON MUSTARD COLOR...
