STAR WARS EPISODE II And III To Be Released In 3D Back To Back In 2013

After Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace made an additional $44 million earlier this year when it was re-released in 3D, LucasFilm have confirmed the release dates of both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith in the format.

An unimpressive 3D conversion failed to make The Phantom Menace any more bearable, but it was successful enough to warrant the re-release of the other two prequels. It has been confirmed by the official Star Wars Facebook page that Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are now set to be re-released on the big screen in 3D back-to-back on September 20th, 2013 and October 11th, 2013 respectively. Now that the prequels are out of the way, here's hoping the original trilogy won't be too far behind. Even if you're not a fan of 3D, many Star Wars fans will have never had the chance to see the original (and far superior) trilogy on the big screen. The logo below was also released.

Im excited about this, ever since they announced they were gonna release all 6 films in 3D. Its fun to relive them in theaters again. Im one of the old-school Star Wars fans, the pre-1997 re-release fans. All I want is a Blu-Ray of the original Star Wars. Thats it!
Alex909 - 8/26/2012, 1:50 PM
I'm excited. I saw The Phantom Menace earlier in the year. The only Star Wars movie I had seen previously in the cinema was Revenge of the Sith so I'll be there for the prequels and the originals too.

"Love can't save you, Padme. Only my new powers can" now in 3D
HarryOsbournesFathersGlider - 8/26/2012, 1:52 PM
Good idea to do back to back release as episode 2 was so poor, 3 will be amazing in 3d. I used the convertor on my tv and it came out well on that, hopefully they do a good job. Bring on the originals!
SomTingWong - 8/26/2012, 1:56 PM
they should jhave done the original trilogy first.
marvel72 - 8/26/2012, 1:59 PM
the lightsabre duels are the only decent thing to come out of the prequel trilogy.
ALegendaryPanda - 8/26/2012, 2:02 PM
Revenge of the sith was awesome!
rubbish78 - 8/26/2012, 2:04 PM
.....I can't support 3D I'm sorry.
Darkknightman - 8/26/2012, 2:04 PM
I really want to see this. Said no one ever. When will this idiocy stop?
JDUKE25 - 8/26/2012, 2:06 PM
@Irish dude I haven't seen that movie in forever.
StormLoganSummers - 8/26/2012, 2:08 PM
Cool. Revenge of the Sith is in my top 5 favourite movies, so I may break my "no 3D rule" to see it again.

Nope. I'm done with Star Wars films. TPM 3D was the first time I seen it since 1999 – and I totally understand the hate. It truly is unbearable and the 3D conversion was nauseating. But I liked the Darth Maul glasses I got.
NerdyGeek - 8/26/2012, 2:13 PM
All the OTT choreographed fight scenes mean nothing when I feel no emotion for the characters involved. That is why the Original Trilogy had better fight scenes. I said it!
Wingding - 8/26/2012, 2:13 PM
Oh jeez. Here we go. I didn't even bother seeing Faggot Menace in 3D. Lol. But I will probably see AOTC and ROTS. Can't wait for ESB to come out.

Star Wars may be not be dead. We still have 1313 to judge.

However, I'll just leave this here:

October 2013??!!!? What happened to January? [frick] me in the ass.
MJPETTY7 - 8/26/2012, 2:18 PM
Can't wait! I'll be seeing these, The Phantom Menace was done really well so I'm excited for this.

I hope the ORIGINAL TRILOGY isn't far behind!!!!
Techinsane - 8/26/2012, 2:25 PM

I like the prequels.

Dur, I mean, Lucas raped my childhood! Wah! He's an evil monster that must be destroyed! Wah! Original trilogy for all teh winz!
IronSpider101 - 8/26/2012, 3:02 PM
Attack of the Clones: Maybe

Revenge of the Sith/Original Trilogy: I'm there.
DylansMyDog - 8/26/2012, 3:08 PM
Actually if you take all the Anakin/Padme scenes out of Clones and Sith they are pretty good, even if they make no sense.

Phantom Menace on the other hand...
Maximus101 - 8/26/2012, 3:10 PM
Revenge of the sith I'll see for sure, a lot of light saber battles in that one.
NeoBaggins - 8/26/2012, 3:17 PM
When I saw a Bosses Only screening of ROTS at Pixar studios in 2005 after meeting Anthony Daniels, the first thing I said to myself when I saw the opening was "This space battle would look awesome in 3-D".

I'd probably go see Empire Strikes Back if it were released in 3D which is probably unlikely or far off considering Lucas' hatred for the original trilogy.
thewonderer - 8/26/2012, 3:21 PM
I like the prequels, and the originals.

The originals aren't THAT much better than the prequels people, and I think the prequels get way too much hate
ATrueHero1987 - 8/26/2012, 3:27 PM
Damn, FOX re releasing all these films with 3D conversion.lol Star Wars Ep. 1, 2, 3, and ID4 in 3D in July 2014.
JoeMomma29 - 8/26/2012, 3:29 PM
Of course Lucas is back to milking that cow dry!
wbrowning79 - 8/26/2012, 3:45 PM
I'll go see it. But only for the epic fight scenes in episode III. Oh and this...
spectrecls07 - 8/26/2012, 4:01 PM
man, shut up. so sick of people bashing the prequels. when you make a multimillion dollar movie that completes a multi BILLION dollar franchise, then you can open your bacon covered face. until then, stuff it f()ckstick.
spectrecls07 - 8/26/2012, 4:05 PM
@ puyguy- good. now you can kill yourself. everyones allowed an opinion. except you.
FoiledCranium - 8/26/2012, 4:06 PM
Okay, so @PuyGuy is just a trolling asshole?

Seriously, you came to this article with nothing worth while to say about anything. When you come to a page specifically to get some shots in, you're wasting what little time on Earth you have trying to piss of a community.

So, please, for the sake of your dignity, find somewhere else to go.
Toasty - 8/26/2012, 4:08 PM
The prequels had they're good and bad points, generally the problem was an overkill of SFX and complete lack of story and emotion to what the originals had.
TheBigBoss917 - 8/26/2012, 4:09 PM
Cool just get the shit out of the way so we can get the OG Trilogy
HeadPool420 - 8/26/2012, 4:22 PM
The adult in me gets mad at the kid in me when a Star Wars movie is rereleased! The adult is always "how many time do I have to pay to see the same movies?!" And the kid is like "hey it's Star Wars! Shut up!" and the kid in me always wins and I pay and see! Also I have a Yoda portrait tattooed on my hand so I gotta go!
NovemberGrey - 8/26/2012, 4:23 PM
Dear George Lucas,

Though I was never a Star Wars fan, I did admire your other great works Indiana Jones and Howard the Duck. That said, can you please, please, pretty please, with sugar on top, spend your time either coming up with NEW ideas, or simply enjoying retirement. I think I speak for most in saying you have completely raped your arguably, greatest achievement to death. At this rate 25 years from now n your deathbed you will be re-mastering a movie filmed in the 70's for re-release in 4 dimensional hologram. Ya see where I'm going with this...
myparentsaredead - 8/26/2012, 4:24 PM
I might skip AOTC. One of the worst films I've ever seen. ROTS, I might catch. I'm honestly just waiting on IV-VI.
