Prometheus may not have lived up to the expectations of hardcore Alien fans, but it did perform well at the box office and received mostly positive reviews from critics. The DVD and Blu-ray goes on sale next month in the UK and US, and it is expected to be packed full of special features. Ahead of that release, Hey U Guys have exclusively revealed the following video, although where it's from and what exactly it is isn't clear. fun. love all the "viral" marketing...even after the fact!

much as i love the blue collar nature of the Nostromos in Alien, I kind of can't believe some of the ragtag miscreants chosen by Weyland...
DayOldDaddy - 9/6/2012, 3:51 PM
I found more viral clues in the LIME AWAY advertisement....!!!
PapaII - 9/6/2012, 3:58 PM
Loved Prometheus.

Amazing movie and I I'll be purchasing the blu ray the day it's released. Gonna have A LOT of deleted scenes.
BmanHall - 9/6/2012, 5:07 PM
Some things I didn't care for but, overall, I thought the movie was good. Still wish it would have wrapped the story up better though. Instead we're getting a prequel sequel.
Bane2099 - 9/6/2012, 5:25 PM
Hmmm I wonder what the 1984 that flashed on the screen means?
AsianVersionOfET - 9/6/2012, 5:37 PM
Prometheus and TDKR were my top two of the summer.
Astronut - 9/6/2012, 5:42 PM
Eagerly awaiting the BLU RAY release. I was disappointed in the film to a degree when I saw it the first time but since then I watched it two additional times and I enjoyed it more with each subsequent viewing. I am hoping the BLU RAY gives us at least a couple of additional bits to help make more sense of certain sequences. (crossing fingers)
Astronut - 9/6/2012, 5:45 PM
BEAUTIFUL film, btw - I thought the soundtrack was really nice, too. As much I had hoped the film would be better all-around, I still enjoyed it more than TDKR. I give it a solid 8.
BmanHall - 9/6/2012, 5:45 PM
@ Astronut: Doesn't sound like too much to ask. Some extra scenes could be really nice.

DioFoRio - 9/6/2012, 6:49 PM
Orwellian connection?
Ha1frican - 9/6/2012, 7:40 PM
When Ridley Scott said this asnt an Alien prequel he wasnt kidding... it was a long drawn out trailer for an Alien prequel...
Ha1frican - 9/6/2012, 7:43 PM
The more i think about it the more i realize that while things hapened in Pometheus nothing actually HAPPENED. None of the set ups were ever paid off and every piece of the story was left hanging. I went in hoping for maybe SOME answers regarding Alien but it neer even answeres any of the questions posed in the film itself, its like the3rd act of this movie was just cut out.
AnonymousGuy - 9/6/2012, 8:40 PM
Ahahahaha! That was hilarious!
lokibane2012 - 9/6/2012, 8:44 PM
I feel like they should've cared about the movie itself more than they do about this shitty elaborate viral campaign that nobody really cares about, since of course they don't care about the movie.
JimmyPesto - 9/6/2012, 10:15 PM
Maybe some of the flight crew was android. He did say he loved the classics. Mind freak.
lokibane2012 - 9/7/2012, 1:44 AM
@JStark

I think your friend might be a liar. The whole "Space Jesus" thing has been out on the internet for months now. And Ridley Scott said that he rejected the idea pretty much because it was too hokey and stupid.
jimoakley666 - 9/7/2012, 2:20 AM
Looks like one of the tweaked screen-test videos that featured Rapace.
GodzillaKart - 9/7/2012, 8:20 AM
God Prometheus was dumb. Truly one of the most unintelligently written movies I have ever seen.

Every actor did a great job. Every scene was beautiful. Some parts were very scary and tense.

It was like the target audience was recently reformed creationists who hadn't learned a thing about science yet.

Dumb.

Actually made me sad to just watch the trailer again, because it made me remember when I thought it was going to be great.

Biggest disappointment in years.
StrangerX - 9/7/2012, 8:37 AM
I'm looking forward to the DVD and extra footage hopefully it will answer a few of the questions for the whiny bitches.
GodzillaKart - 9/7/2012, 8:56 AM
@StrangerX: Whiny bitches nothin'. The movie was dumb.

If a movie purporting to be science fiction tells me zebras are made out of magic gumdrops and appeared on the Earth 500 years ago in a floating dump truck, it's not a good movie, and definitely not SCIENCE fiction. No amount of extra footage is going to fix that.
Fogs - 9/7/2012, 11:04 AM
Loved the movie.

@godzilla - i'm understanding you don't like the whole mankind creation thing?

I don't think that's a problem, i just didnt like some stupid shit some characters did. Nothing serious, didnt ruin the movie imo.
GodzillaKart - 9/7/2012, 1:02 PM
@Fogs: I thought it was a problem in that it IGNORED everything we know about biology, evolution, DNA, etc. and offered no explanation except "Black goo did it". Now, if they were able to make a film about aliens seeding the Earth and have it be scientifically plausible, that would have been fantastic. Not only did they not do it, they didn't even try.

As I said before, it wasn't science fiction, but that required the inclusion of some science. It was creationism fiction, which is redundant.

But I agree, the characters did some stupid shit that nobody with an ounce of self-preservation would do.

Dumb movie
Fogs - 9/8/2012, 8:12 AM
@Godzillafart - hmm but we saw their method, not how many times that was done here. About the black goo, that's supposed to be some substance that breaks dna structure, something we haven't discovered yet. What did you expect, they inseminating a chimpanzee or something?

I don't think that would disqualify the movie from being a true sci-fi. We don't know hot to create replicants or flying cars like in Blade Runner or Hal-9000, and no one would think on disregarding BR or 2001 as sci-fi.
Fogs - 9/8/2012, 9:03 AM
** how to
GodzillaKart - 9/8/2012, 6:52 PM
But it went against things that we know. The fact that we are related to every other living thing on the planet, the fact that they said that we had a 100% match with the aliens, yet we are not 11 feet tall and hairless. The biologist said at one point "are we just going to throw out 300 years of Darwinism?" Darwinism? Nobody says "Darwinism" unless they are a creationist retard using it as a pejorative. The scientific theory that all of modern biology is based on is called "evolution". Speaking of pejorative, sorry for using "retard" as one.

Dumb, dumb movie.
BFGLOOM - 9/9/2012, 9:38 PM
@JSTark....What else did your friend tell you...? I never heard about scott making 3. 2 was always the plan, since Fox talked him to directing anyway. More info would be cool! @ lokibane2012....I wouldn't say rejected, he plans to use that storyline for Paradise actually. He's revealed that much just not what caused the gods mission to earth to be stopped or by "what". He's also hinted that Paradise will be an "Aliens" type of sequel. Larger Scale... More Gods, More Creatures, Their home planet, and more answers... Lets hope we get the 2nd soon or a directors cut that we all like more then the finished film
