Hideo Kojima Reveals Which Type Of Actor He Wants To Play 'Snake' In METAL GEAR SOLID
Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima once said that he would like to see Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman bring 'Snake' to life on the big screen, but the creator of the critically acclaimed video game franchise now reveals that he and Avi Arad have a different type of actor in mind...
Talking today at the Eurogamer Expo in London, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has revealed the type of actor that he and producer Avi Arad (Spider-Man, X-Men) are hoping to find to play iconic Playstation character, 'Snake'. A lot of big names have been suggested in the past, but it appears as if they are far more interested in finding a lesser known actor for the role (similar to what Marvel Studios did with THOR's Chris Hemsworth). Many thanks to IGN Movies for the quote below. Be sure to click on the link at the bottom of the page to read more of Kojima's comments on the big screen adaptation, and specifically how he feels about not being involved in either a writing or directing capacity. Who do you guys think would be a good choice?
"If I talk to much about this Avi might get mad at me, but after thinking about it more, it’s probably better to go for someone new, a rising star, someone who hasn't been typecast before as a particular kind of character, so that’s the route we’re going right now. Avi is very good at finding these people, and I think we can find someone who can make it big and have Solid Snake be their break into the movie industry."
