Well, this is interesting. According to We Got This Covered, Famke Janssen (who played 'Jean Grey/The Phoenix' in all three of 20th Century Fox's X-Men movies) recently flew over to Sidney to shoot a cameo in The Wolverine. The actress recently confirmed that she would be interested in reprising the role in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: Days of Future Past, so it's strange that this is where she will be appearing next, especially when the James Mangold helmed film is thought to be another prequel. There's no word on how big or small a role she'll have, although the site specifically mention that it's a cameo appearance. Are you looking forward to seeing Janssen back? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

I hope with this timeline plot they change Janssen for a different actress.

Jean Grey is supposed to be cute-hot, not old and hollywood fit.
BruceLeroy - 10/21/2012, 10:28 AM
Hilarious.
toco89 - 10/21/2012, 10:33 AM
Well its official, they bullshitted us again about what the movie is about.

I don't care. And honestly I don't think anybody does...

AS LONG AS ITS GOOD.

But good does include at least a coherent timeline.
IcemanX - 10/21/2012, 10:38 AM

Theunderdog - 10/21/2012, 10:42 AM
I personally think that Famke done a great job as jean despite the two don't resemble each other in anything. I think famke if was given a better chance as dark phoenix she would have been marvelous she is good at playing EVIL role
sciencefriction - 10/21/2012, 10:43 AM
Ick, ugh, ew, and yet another reason why Fox's X-Men franchise stinks.
Tony93 - 10/21/2012, 10:43 AM
I have a feeling they are going to tie in DOFP and the Wolvernine together while fixing the continuity...
Ric - 10/21/2012, 10:48 AM
SHIT just got real!
astromerc - 10/21/2012, 10:51 AM
Shit just got really dumb!
Ric - 10/21/2012, 10:53 AM
@ Equinox: agree! they could totally cum up with their own cinematic universe!!!
tazmaniak - 10/21/2012, 10:53 AM
@toco89, what do you mean " Well its official, they bullshitted us again about what the movie is about". How does her appearance change what we've been told about the film?
OtakuPapi - 10/21/2012, 10:56 AM
looking at that pic makes me wonder wtf were they thinking when they cast her in the first place
zachman2013 - 10/21/2012, 10:57 AM
@Equinox
Fox's x films suck, they defiantly need the MCU to make it better.
Durango95 - 10/21/2012, 10:59 AM
Equinox & Ric
you guys are [frick]ing retards if you think the X-Men movies were good. Ive read the books since I was a kid and I hated it with the exception of First Class.

DrRockso - 10/21/2012, 11:01 AM
toco89 go [frick] yourself
MutantEquality - 10/21/2012, 11:02 AM
@OtakuPapi Awesome new Avatar

I thought I had given up on these movies and now they are dangeling this stuff in front of me and I'm trying not to care.I was hoping for an entire reboot but if they are going to do this I guess I wish them luck. Just give us something to be proud of.
ManofwooD - 10/21/2012, 11:05 AM
Nooooo!!!! the x-men serie is [frick]ed
DCjohnny - 10/21/2012, 11:09 AM
@ FriendlyJoShFest.... totaly agree with u....

i thought x men first class was a reboot....

and if she is going to appear in wolverine .... does that mean she didnt die in x men last stand...... man this franchise is messing with my head.... i rally need a proper timeline .....
ManofwooD - 10/21/2012, 11:12 AM
I meet her in person a few years ago in Toronto and i honestly couldn't see why she was ever casted to play jean grey, the bitch is almost 50yrs old. c'mon fox studio you [frick]ed up the continuity with wolverines origins don't [frick] this one up too.
JDUKE25 - 10/21/2012, 11:19 AM
She was ok, but good grief, this whole thing is confusing.
CharlesLord - 10/21/2012, 11:19 AM
Hahaha we all knew this was gonna happen. Which is why I called BS on the use of the DoFP storyline
theInvincibleMexiMan - 10/21/2012, 11:20 AM
I dont care what happens, as long as this scene is in one of the Xmen movies ;)

SugarYumYum - 10/21/2012, 11:21 AM
Huh? Wasn't this supposed to be a standalone with no ties to the (fo)X-men movies? Or did that go out the window when Aronofsky left? I haven't been keeping up with the news with this movie that much, so I probably missed that piece of news.

In regards to Famke, it sounds BEYOND stupid to have a Jean Gray her age in the sequel to the PREquel. All the castings for the female characters in the first three X-films sucked, please use this opportunity to correct the problem. Get a younger, prettier, and better suited actress to play Jean please.
toco89 - 10/21/2012, 11:22 AM
@tazmaniak

Its just another in a LONG line of things that don't line up with what the people involved initially presented or insinuated. They don't have to tell us shit, especially if they're gonna change it later.

They tell you one thing, then through the course of time let you know another change after another then its wtf, just make the movie. Give me a plot, then AFTER any one thing is set in stone as in filmed at least, then use that to promote interest.

But no, let me just say a bunch of random crap, then show you we're filming something different, it's annoying. Whats the point of that for fans. They just better make a proper sequel to FC or I'm done with their movies
theboywonder - 10/21/2012, 11:26 AM
JEAN!
JonStarkgaryen - 10/21/2012, 11:27 AM
I dig it!

I’m still clinging to hope that Fox will pull a Lloyd Christmas AND TOTALLY REDEEM THEMSELVES!
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 10/21/2012, 11:33 AM
Eh, she was a good Bond Girl.
Tainted87 - 10/21/2012, 11:34 AM
I love Famke.

And she's still hot
KalEl26 - 10/21/2012, 11:37 AM
I doubt this will be a prequel because from the shots we have seen from so far all have cars that appear to be newer models.
MrReese - 10/21/2012, 11:42 AM
She was an ok Jean

Ric - 10/21/2012, 11:45 AM
@ Durango95: I ment the NEW Franchise that was started with First Class and is now moving forward with The Wolverine ;) I also kinda didn't liked the first three!
Daneformerly - 10/21/2012, 11:49 AM
She was good as Phoenix
Deadpoolwithcomicsans - 10/21/2012, 11:51 AM
The biggest reason I am looking forward to this movie is the end credits scene where we see popcorn thrown at the screen and a red and black mercenary yells "THAT MOVIE WAS SHIT!"
Ric - 10/21/2012, 11:55 AM
@Deadpoolwithcomicsans: lmfao that would be awesome ^^
Durango95 - 10/21/2012, 12:06 PM
@ ric
I retract my previous statement.
Deadpoolwithcomicsans - 10/21/2012, 12:15 PM
As for the news itself
