UPDATE: Frank Grillo Up For A Role In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER?

Frank Grillo, who recently appeared in both The Grey and Warrior, has seemingly revealed that he's visited Marvel Studios to talk about a role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Read on for details! UPDATE: Is he in talks to play 'Crossbones'?

Frank Grillo is a great actor who has had memorable roes in small screen hits such as The Shield and Prison Break. Of course, you've more than likely also seen him in films such as those mentioned above, not to mention such prominent upcoming releases as Gangster Squad and Zero Dark Forty. However, it looks like his next role will be in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier! As you can see from the Tweet below, the prolific actor recently met with the studio for what sounds like a fairly prominent role in the highly anticipated sequel. There's obviously no word on who he may or may not be playing, but it's hard to imagine Grillo being anything other than a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. UPDATE: According to radio host and comedian Matthew Aaron, who Tweeted the following BEFORE Grillo revealed that he'd met with Marvel Studios, the actor is set to play 'Crossbones' in the sequel (who played a pivotal role in the comic book version of the story).

Once again, just wanted to tell you and I'll be talking about it all week... Frank Grillo has tested for Crossbone in the new Marvel movies

Great actor. Nothing against seeing him in the film. I hope Kevin Durand gets the role of Crossbones thou. Considering that character is part of the movie.

I doubt they are talking contract with this guy, probably just doing the screen tests. I wouldn't be surpised if they flew i/ accepted 20 different guuys to test for Zemo assuming he can also star in the third film. Im still hoping that Coster-Waldau gets Zemo, he is fantastic in Game of Thrones

I sincerely hope the role he is up for is Baron Zemo. I'm guessing Red Skull won't be coming back, though I feel like he should have had a small role in the movie just like the comic introduction of Winter Soldier. I wonder if Sin will be in the movie instead, in conjunction with Crossbones, or if Baron Zemo & Crossbones will be working together. Hmmm.

I have faith in Marvel, that the only "villains" won't be Crossbones and Winter Soldier. Baron Zemo better be in this film! Still, not sure I can see this guy playing Crossbones, this will be interesting.
