It's a flashback to World War 2 times, remember that photo of production art released with that deep well? Another set-pic showed them constructing it too...so yeah, WWII flashback scene innit.
KelvTwelve - 10/25/2012, 4:10 AM
Oh thank god, I hated the bone claws.
Spideyguy94 - 10/25/2012, 4:18 AM
Most likely a flashback to him fight in WW2 in Japan I hope
KelvTwelve - 10/25/2012, 4:21 AM
@Grif It's because X-Men Origins never happened.
CorronZenith30 - 10/25/2012, 4:21 AM
Yesssss! Hopefully they may touch ever so slightly on a more comicbook authentic origins/weaponx aspect to the story. Not to make an origins flick, cause it won't be, but if they manage to undo some of the XMEN origins mess it'll b awesome
blvdnoise - 10/25/2012, 4:24 AM
Awesome, loving all the Wolvie updates! and you're exactly right @Spideyguy94. Twas' the first thing that popped in my head.

Cause obviously the other thing never happened..
eviltattooedguy - 10/25/2012, 4:25 AM
This is not an official pic. This is someones made up poster with an image from origins when logan and victor were in veitnam. Completely fake people
ElShumway - 10/25/2012, 4:31 AM
Wolverine? Boooooooriiiing
ManofSteel23 - 10/25/2012, 4:32 AM
It's not fake at all,I can spot a photoshop Job and this isn't
KelvTwelve - 10/25/2012, 4:33 AM
@evil40
This is obviously from James Mangold's The Wolverine. In Origins, his hairstyle wasn't that short.
siggisuperman - 10/25/2012, 4:36 AM
"I've got six bones to pick with you" Oh god I sure hope it's fake.
CorronZenith30 - 10/25/2012, 4:36 AM
(Top left of the pic) "I've got six bones to pick with you!" - Hugh Jackman
LOVE IT!
JoshWilding - 10/25/2012, 4:37 AM
evil40: Yeah, because Empire Magazine are well known for creating fake photos and passing them off as being official. Jesus...
CorronZenith30 - 10/25/2012, 4:37 AM
Don't think he'll say it in the flick. Hope not. Still love it :-)
marvel72 - 10/25/2012, 4:39 AM

QuanZen - 10/25/2012, 4:40 AM
lookin good!
eviltattooedguy - 10/25/2012, 4:44 AM
Well if it is real it looks horrible. Im not sayin that to be a dick but if you are going to release a pic at least use a better one than this. I guess it could be a flashback to the war because it looks just like the scene from origins.
AC1 - 10/25/2012, 4:45 AM
Hopefully they're ignoring Origins. If they choose to ignore Last Stand as well, even better.
JatevinM - 10/25/2012, 4:52 AM
This isn't a photoshop its just a flashback
shaddowkhan - 10/25/2012, 4:53 AM
BONECLAWS FTW
AmazingFantasy - 10/25/2012, 4:54 AM
SO [frick]ING AWESOME
AC1 - 10/25/2012, 4:56 AM
I get the feeling this film will lead on to DOFP, it might end with Wolverine being sent back in time to the First Class timeline, and then he'll end up joining that version of the team.

Actually this scene does look familiar, but I don't remember Logan being locked in Bane's prison in TDKR... maybe he's the one who [frick]ed Bane's face up so bad that he had to wear that mask? I wonder how he managed to get out and meet the X-Men without anyone noticing? Maybe Alfred stole The Bat and flew him out of there, but left Bruce because Bruce was a dick to him about the letter at the beginning of the movie. Yeah... that's what happened...
ScabbyJ - 10/25/2012, 4:58 AM
I like the way this is looking and thought the final chase sequence in 3:10 to Yuma was brilliant, so I have high hopes.
HULK2099 - 10/25/2012, 5:03 AM
Flash back
HULK2099 - 10/25/2012, 5:04 AM
Wait this takes place after X-Men trilogy ? Wtf I thought it took place after x-men origins, remember the after credit scene.
Ryan - 10/25/2012, 5:10 AM
I loved the bone claws.
Theunderdog - 10/25/2012, 5:16 AM
It interesting to know that this movie will take place after x-men 3. I don't understand .will this movie take place in flashback of wolverine in japan from past? or Is wolverine going to visit japan
GodzillaKart - 10/25/2012, 5:23 AM
Uh. And with that one move they lost my admission dollars.

The moment in Wolverine's comic history when Magneto ripped out his metal skeleton to reveal that he had....bone claws?!...was the moment when he started down the long road from being a fascinating character to being the stupid shell of a generic nothing he is today.

Singer wisely ignored that part of his history (amazing how it just takes one shitty writer to [frick] up a great character), but obviously subsequent writers and directors have not been as smart.

So, [frick] off, The Wolverine, I hardly knew you!

jimoakley666 - 10/25/2012, 5:30 AM
@evil40 - It's an official photo used in Empire, you lemon. Ha ha.

This is a scene set in WW2 when he get's thrown down a well in Nagasaki while the atom bomb goes off above.

I've got no problem with these bone claws. They look better than the ones used in Origins. They're shaped more like his Adamantium claws, blade-shaped rather than pointed spikes.
jimoakley666 - 10/25/2012, 5:31 AM
It's a good article, by the way. Someone should transcribe it.
Mysterion - 10/25/2012, 5:58 AM
@ Nomis: LMAO
DaDeaDmAn - 10/25/2012, 5:59 AM

KAPOW - 10/25/2012, 6:16 AM
Can't wait for this!
dracula - 10/25/2012, 6:19 AM
how can this film take place after the other x men films if he has a flashback to japan
JohnnyKrypton - 10/25/2012, 6:21 AM
Looks kinda scrawny...ripped, but way smaller than he was the first time they were going to shoot
cmax - 10/25/2012, 6:24 AM
boner claws!
MisterNiceGuy - 10/25/2012, 6:26 AM

marvel72 - 10/25/2012, 6:29 AM
@ teabag

brokenexcitement - 10/25/2012, 6:31 AM
@tea I completely geeked out on your video of Mr Lo Pan Style. Loved that movie! And when he actually shows up in the elevator and does the finger interlocked thing from the movie...I was loving every minute of it lol
dancingmonkey08 - 10/25/2012, 6:35 AM
Bone claws, must be the scene set back during World War 2, glad to see theres one bit of good continuity in the movies still!
