"I have to say I haven't signed a contract, nor have I read a script," Sir Ian McKellen told MTV News about his commitment to Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past while promoting the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. "But when Bryan Singer calls, on the whole, I follow." So, we can definitely expect to see him back, regardless of whether or not he's signed up as of right now. However, he went on to reveal that he's most looking forward to the possibility of teaming up with Michael Fassbender's younger 'Magneto'! "Wouldn't that be fun. I'd hope he'd enjoy it as much as I would. I don't know how it's going to work. I suspect it's a flashback. The comics do go to and fro in time." Despite the fact that he has yet to see the screenplay, the actor added that he doesn't think it will necessary follow the comic book storyline that it is named after. "I don't think it'll be quite as simple as that."

Im sure both will "officially" be on board soon

McKellen is signing up in all probability. He and Singer have a long working relationship that started before Singer even presented Xmen to McKellen.

Stewart WILL NOT promote a movie with his name until everything is clear and signed.

McKellen and Singer are good friends.

MisterMagurlypse - 12/6/2012, 1:54 PM
There's going to be some pissed off peeps when Singer strays far, far away from the comic story. I'm calling it now that Mystique will replace Kitty Pride. Kitty won't even be in it.

Can't wait to see him destroying Sentinels.
mk - 12/6/2012, 2:22 PM
i think theyll just cgi ian mckellen and patrick stewart... lol
fortycals - 12/6/2012, 4:25 PM
The only thing they better not stray from in sentinles. I want to see all kinds too. Big ones, little ones, new ones, old ones, nimrods, and the whole sha-bang. Everything else is fair game as long as its good.
jimoakley666 - 12/6/2012, 4:38 PM
I wonder if they may get rid of the Sentinels in place of Apocalypse. I've got a gut feeling this will be part DOFP and part AOA.

@toco89
Singer & Mckellen have more than X-men in common ;P

Anyways I hate "Bryan Singer's X-Men"

He should be directing Power Ranger movies instead. That crap would be right up his alley.
blackster - 12/6/2012, 6:22 PM
^nah, he'd suck all the joy out of that too. and replace it with black leather douchebaggery.
DioFoRio - 12/6/2012, 6:54 PM
Wonder if McKellen and Singer ever hooked up?
mgeoff88 - 12/6/2012, 8:35 PM
What!? I thought Patrick Stewart said Ian Mckellen was officially on board?

Bryan Singer needs to make some calls.
HeadPool420 - 12/6/2012, 9:06 PM
Singer needs to keep his mouth shut till all contracts are signed.
pepe - 12/6/2012, 11:00 PM
@nowtheresaBATman: I hear you, girlfriend!!!

Singer is crap... Mckellen was NOT a good Magneto. He made it a joke and not menacing. First Class brought us a much better Magneto... and da helmet!
Kalel59 - 12/7/2012, 2:03 AM
Lol !

Azazel1 - 12/7/2012, 10:03 AM
Why do I have this sinking feeling in my stomach that Singer is going to [frick] this up...
