The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

Is this still coming out in October? I've seen theatres advertise this as coming out in March, but everything else says it's coming out March?
spanky87 - 2/25/2013, 7:51 AM

I'm not a fan of remakes but she was very good in Let Me In so I'm sure she'll do this justice too.
Chloefornication - 2/25/2013, 10:08 AM

Looks creepy, didn't convince me in trailer.
Foolkiller - 2/25/2013, 11:23 AM
I don't see the need for this film. The original is a really good movie and I find it hard to believe it will be topped. There have been more than enough pointless remakes over the past decade or so. What next? A remake of Jaws? Dirty Harry?
Dudeposter - 2/25/2013, 11:28 AM
Not everyone has seen the movie. And, there hasn't been a 'good' telling of the story since the first one, so I guess they are trying to make this the definitive retelling.
nach1wan - 2/25/2013, 12:01 PM
creepy... i like moretz, perhaps this will be a good 2013 film... so far all films launched this year had suck beyond belief
superbatspiderman - 2/25/2013, 2:27 PM
There really was no need to remake Carrie. Carrie is a horror movie classic. Why can't they adapt movies of Stephen King's other books like Dark Tower.
Beast092313 - 2/25/2013, 3:57 PM
MrMxyzptlk, how is she not old enough to do that scene? She's 16, definitely old enough to believe she's started her period.
P90 - 2/25/2013, 4:01 PM
I don't understand the point of this remake. Don't give me the old "Retell it for a modern audience" because the original still fits for young people. Sure the clothes and hair are different but the themes and ideas are still fresh for the high school crowd. Somehow I think this movie will be meaner and "grittier" than the original and thats just stupid.
P90 - 2/25/2013, 4:03 PM
@Beast092313

She's not old enough to be full frontal nude on camera. Spacek was like 2o something, Moretz is 16.
Dudeposter - 2/25/2013, 8:22 PM
Does it [frick]ing look like she is in a shower?
