Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms That SHERLOCK Will Return For A Fourth Season
Martin Freeman (The Hobbit) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) haven't even begun filming the third season yet, but the latter has reportedly confirmed that they have signed up for a further three episodes after that. Read on for details!
Rejoice fellow Sherlock fans! According to Radio Times, Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes) has confirmed that he and co-star Martin Freeman (Dr. John Watson) will return as the iconic duo for a fourth season of the BBC series. "We've agreed to two more series but I could get into trouble for saying that," he told the site at the South Bank Show Awards earlier this afternoon. "All I know at the moment is I'm doing these three [episodes of the upcoming series] and another three." He apparently went on to add that he would like to continue playing the character beyond a fourth season, although with both him and Freeman now finding big screen success in blockbusters like The Hobbit and Star Trek Into Darkness, it all depends on their hectic schedules! Filming of season three begins next week in order for it to air (in the UK at least) this Fall.
