THOR: THE DARK WORLD Prelude Comic Book Series Confirmed For June

With Iron Man 3 so close to release, it's been a while since we've heard anything much about Marvel Studios' other big 2013 movie, Thor: The Dark World. Well, the Marvel solicitations for this June confirm that it will be getting a comic book prelude. Read on for details!

If you read Marvel's recent Iron Man 3 prelude comic, I don't think you'll disagree with me when I say that it wasn't really all that good! Focusing mainly on where War Machine was during the events of The Avengers, it really didn't serve all that much of a purpose. However, when it comes to Thor: The Dark World, there's still an awful lot of loose ends to wrap up from both the first Thor movie and the superhero ensemble. With Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost on writing duties, this one promises to be well worth checking out (especially as they're so closely involved with the movie). Full details about the release - and the temporary cover - are below.

• An all-new adventure leading you directly into the upcoming Marvel Studios blockbuster THOR: THE DARK WORLD!
• What happened to your favorite Asgardians between the events of THOR and THE AVENGERS? What comes next? Find out here!
• Thor! Loki! Odin! Heimdall! Jane Foster! Sif! The Warriors Three! All this, brought to you by the powerhouse creative team of writers Craig Kyle (THOR: THE DARK WORLD executive producer) and Christopher Yost (THOR: THE DARK WORLD co-writer) and artist Scot Eaton (CAPTAIN AMERICA)!

Am I going to have to buy the comics to know what's going on?
CodeNameCap - 3/13/2013, 3:03 PM
What the heck do you mean the Iron Man 3 tie-in wasn't good?!?! It answered one of the main questions comic book fans and movie-junkies had been wondering, and that was: "WHERE THE HELL WAS RHODEY IN THE AVENGERS?!?!?!?!" I personally loved the IM3 tie-in and I'm buying this one, too.
MementoMori - 3/13/2013, 8:17 PM
I haven't read the Iron Man 3 tie-in. Was it really that bad? I'm looking forward to this film, so I might have to pick this one up.

Really looking forward to this movie which has the potential to be greater than the first one.

Hopin it puts the 'mighty" back into Thor. In the Avengers - I thought the son of Odin took a back seat to both Iron Man and the Hulk.
