Higher Quality THE WOLVERINE Stills; James Mangold Confirms Trailer Release Date

We've seen each of the following stills from The Wolverine in low-resolution, but some much higher quality scans from the latest issue of Total Film have now surfaced. Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Delaying it was not a good idea. Should have had a teaser at the superbowl, just 30 seconds and no footage would be better than this radio silence until GI Joke.

Is it just me or does his claws look a bit different than before ? I looks as is the angle on the top of the claws is a bit closer to his hand than before.

...

I did my research, the angle is alright, but they are MUCH thinner.

Him in a ninja suit with the type of battle damage shown above would get me excited about this film. As it is...

Yea, keep showing the neutered Wolverine. If that's what floats your boat that's fine by me. I want to see this dude in full death mode...which we haven't seen. Forgive me for craving things I haven't seen before.

You have a right to your opinion as I have every right to mine. Brown and yellow suit caked in blood, along with Claremount's story. What's so hard to understand about that?

the claws are certainly different than one used in the past, they arn't as long/fanned out/thicker

@RamonSuarez... ^Damn, you beat me to it. Not only Rated R, but they'll be heads rollin with lot's of slicing and dicing body parts. Of course, all in his traditional Wolverine suit and not no two piece Armani trench coat suit they've got him in.

Thats a cool pic with Hulk ripping off Wolvies arm & sticking his claw into his head..can his own claws pierce his own metal skull? Is he dead there or just starting to heal/ recover?

Haha, yeah, Wolvie took a beatin' there (and some people still underestimate Frank?!?). That's why I love the hairy little bastard, he can take anything. Put a claw through his face..Wait a few minutes..

To answer your question, YES they can. The only thing that can cut through adamantium is adamantium itself.

@sameoldthing No, blade of Adamantium can cut almost everything except Adamantium itself and Vibranium. So, that pic is a bull and the X-men Origins Wolverine is a shit because:
First - Adamantium bullets can't destroy or fly through the Adamantium it will ricochet and that's it.
Secon - Adamantium bullets can't erase memory.
Third - The movie is shit as well as idea that Adamantium can cut through Adamantium. It is impossible .
