sicknimon - 3/19/2013, 5:10 AM
Don't know why I'm not looking forward to this. Still gonna see it. Maybe its the proir disappointments and the fact days of future past is starting to sound NOTHING like the source material and another over packed casting job.'
Philvis - 3/19/2013, 5:12 AM
Something tells me that this is going to be a thriller that is set in Japan with a guy who just happens to have some adamantium claws. it shall be interesting but I am looking forward to it.
driver - 3/19/2013, 5:15 AM
I am not sure what rating movie receives but there are a lot mentions of blood.here is the line for example: Shingen drives his good hand into Pit-Face’s throat
CoulsonLives - 3/19/2013, 5:29 AM
Doesn't the Avengers also have blood?
RPD - 3/19/2013, 5:30 AM
I so want this movie to be good...
marvel72 - 3/19/2013, 5:34 AM
this movie better be good because it looks & sounds like it will be.
figuresmaniac - 3/19/2013, 5:37 AM
I hope this will be good, Jackman deserves a good Wolverine movie
JayOh - 3/19/2013, 5:51 AM
Confirmed how and where? @LEVITIKUZ
driver - 3/19/2013, 5:52 AM
@BallisticWhale It might, yeah. But in screenplay it is described openly. For examp: There is a scene in flashback where Logan falls to the pit filled with 20 sharpen bamboo sticks and each of them cuts through his body.
Scale is smaller but its really better.Bear fight from the comics is there. But in movie he meets Mariko for the first time. And Silver Samurai appears on page 30!
Nomis - 3/19/2013, 5:53 AM
If this wasn't titled THE WOLVERINE, you'd think it was just another High Jackman movie.

There is nothing remotely resembling Wolvie in these pics. the closest is the mutton chops.
BatsFan - 3/19/2013, 5:59 AM
that one weird looking Silver Samurai...
NeoBaggins - 3/19/2013, 6:04 AM
My anticipation for this is so low that I'm going to be floored if it kicks ass.
FreakingIntelligentRobertGriffin - 3/19/2013, 6:11 AM
This gives off a very good vibe. Don't know why but this is gonna be the tits.
theSHOCKER - 3/19/2013, 6:12 AM
Repeat seen it
BatsFan - 3/19/2013, 6:17 AM
@BallisticWhale I'm pretty sure its a leg less flying Sliver Samurai.
PeterDarker - 3/19/2013, 6:18 AM
This is gonna blllllloooooooooowwwwwww.
NeoBaggins - 3/19/2013, 6:22 AM
I saw a poster at the theater recently (Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz are smoking hot), the one where Wolverine is on a roof with a sword. There was a strange caption at the bottom of the poster. I should have taken a picture because I can't remember what it says. Anyone saw this?
orpheus - 3/19/2013, 6:26 AM
it's not going to be rated R, it's a fantasy every time anyone thinks these comic movies will be R rated. And, it doesn't really need to be unless people are saying f*ck, doing a lot of drugs, nudity/a lot of sex, or the violence is really intense, which really isn't necessary despite Wolverine being clawed. That desire for blood and violence attempts to turn Wolverine into a stupid action and violence film, the same stupid desire that was catered to in X-Men Origins Wolverine (yes, lacking blood and graphic violence, but still serving that substanceless action and violence junkieism).

I hope this movie stays far away from that and remains mostly a drama. Despite how people white-wash Wolverine and want him to be an extreme killing action character who takes all punishment without flinching, he's one of the most complex and interesting characters in terms of his inner struggle- He comes from a shattered history of violence, cruelty and abuse inflicted on him. His life is like that of an abused animal taken in by a family or pack. He's a loner, obviously, but underneath the machismo is a vulnerability and a sense that he's been victimized because of his mutation his whole life. And the best Wolverine stories take him out of simply being a killer or super hero and into other kinds of genres that most superheroes don't venture into as easily, exactly as the source material for this film depicts.
orpheus - 3/19/2013, 6:27 AM
Also, the costume? Wolverine's costumes (except X-Force) are pretty bad and silly. Wolverine is best when he's not in costume.
Rowsdower - 3/19/2013, 7:05 AM
The hairdo is just not working for me.
MrReese - 3/19/2013, 7:23 AM
I'm with @neo this my least anticipated movie.
TheBlackWolverine - 3/19/2013, 7:48 AM
Agh, c'mon people... Where's your faith at? lol You all make it sound like the movie is going to be a 4 5/10.

The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past are going to own!!!!! How is Days of Future Past overly crowded??? What about the Avengers?? They're just following source material in regards to the characters. Meh, well with the exception of a few, but I mean you honestly have to remember that the film is taking place in two different time lines.

-Alternate Future (Mutant Houlocaust) Antagonist:.Sentinels
-70's (Assanination) Antagonist: Brotherhood of Evi Mutants

Perhaps some of the "over crowded" cast are only new members to the brotherhood. And then again you have to think about the concentration camp in the alternate future so there's no need to just have 5 mutants there... We need to see more than just the original X-Men/Magneto.

TheBlackWolverine - 3/19/2013, 7:49 AM
*Evil*
minusman - 3/19/2013, 8:10 AM
@Orpheus- I certainly hope so. A Wolverine who is little more than a brutal killing machine may cause nerdgasms but it certainly wont go over well with the general audience.
A good writer and director will recognize how much depth and dimension Wolverine actually has and will explore them eagerly.

@Levi- Wolvies suit just wont work in this type of movie. To not look completely ridiculous, it would have to be some type of modified samurai armor.
m0th3r - 3/19/2013, 9:05 AM
@TheBlackWolverine Yea, based on their track history they will rock...not..

Based on the Millar-Singer trainwreck of communication, track history of producer, the seeming lack and convoluted changes of story, timeline and cannon..

I mean really, outside of really wanting it to be good, wtf does anyone think make its look good so far? Even the Wolverine pics are nothing to make judgement yet...so people can scream that MCU people are bias (Sony did ok btw...they can keep spidey) but Fox Studios sucks ass, doesn't care about the fans or cannon..the ONLY reason they are spoon feeding you guys this is because Avengers made two truckloads of cash..no other reason...Hell, wolverine was in production and hs changed from sequel to standalone to whateverthe[frick] it is now...

OrgasmicPotatoe - 3/19/2013, 9:22 AM
@m0th3r Dude, I think it's a good thing that millar and singer don't talk a lot. Usually, when the studio gets too involved with a movie, we end up having Spider-Man 3. Let the director do his thing.
DurtyTalynt - 3/19/2013, 9:51 AM
But fox dosent let the difectors do their thing. Thats why arnofsky left. When ratner did he the last stand, the script was already written. Maybe in twenty years we finally get an Uncanny xmen movie with actual action and source material. Not a couple cameos by way of names on a computer and wolverine screaming at the sky naked crying every damn movie. The Wolverine. The more shots of jackman naked just makes it look like a sequel to magic mike.
LordOfTheZegaRealm - 3/19/2013, 9:51 AM
@NeoBaggins Noooooo! Why did you have to forget:(
m0th3r - 3/19/2013, 9:52 AM
@OrgasmicPotatoe In most cases i would agree, but Whedon is at least in the loop. And he isnt ur usual Studio Hack. Not to mention they trotted out and sold it as Millars Universe...

I think ultimately my point has been missed. I LOVE the Xmen, and truly think the Fox wont do them justice. I realize we can be hopeful, excited and optimistic..and that's great..but i just don't believe it. Like i said, what exactly based on fact and not hope makes people think this is going to be better then the overall average of Fox productions? It appears to me to be another half-ass attempt based on Avengers payday why would we think it would be quality? Like MCU films or not, Marvel had a plan and executed it and they appear to be continuing to do that. Has the uniqueness of the individual films suffered for the vision, maybe. Fox Studios appears to lack the commitment to the characters beyond the next payday that even Sony seems to genuinely care about. I really think Fox doesnt care about the characters and ultimately i want something great and dont believe they are capable of delivering it.

There is one other thing that, to me at least, ONLY FOX seems to miss. When you see changes of cannon in MCU, Spiderman, or DC Movies there seems to be some care taken to insure that the spirit or core of the cannon is maintained while adjusting the story. To me, Fox productions have always missed this (Except Daredevil, only part that was really solid). Regardless of whining and bitching here, that is a primary critic of me personally...Rant over..sorry :P
hescian - 3/19/2013, 9:52 AM
They've already ruined Wolverine as a character.
"He comes from a shattered history of violence, cruelty and abuse inflicted on him."?
Not in the movies. In the movies, he's a nice guy, with a conscience, who doesn't like to kill or do harm, who happened to be a mutant, who was tricked into getting adamantium. He can't even fight well, as he keeps getting his ass kicked by everyone.
Before every movie, Hugh talks on interviews about how much he loves the character, and how audiences are going to see the Logan that everyone wants to see, and it's always the same result.
NeoBaggins - 3/19/2013, 10:31 AM
@LordOfTheZegaRealm Maybe I'll stop by or call the theater. It was really weird. A strange tagline or something. I would have thought it was fake had I not been in an actual cinamark theater. Damn, I coulda looked this morning when I was at target getting the Hobbit. Didn't even cross my mind. =(
hescian - 3/19/2013, 10:51 AM
@balwhale: my point is that even though he fought in wars (which were decades apart, so he didn't spend the next century only fighting), even with what happened to his father and brother, he was clearly a well-adjusted person with good ethics and a good conscience. The Wolverine in the comics (at least the ones I grew up with in the 80's) was mostly conflicted because he knows he's done horrible things, and has to constantly fight with the animal inside him that's trying to get out.
In these movies, there is no animal trying to get out. He's a nice guy, who happens to be indestructible.
DurtyTalynt - 3/19/2013, 11:41 AM
Hescian

You have the facts. Foxs version of wolverine is weaker than jacobs pack of twilighted wolves. I dont see nobody rewinding the fights scenes in the xmen movies. And am i the only wondering why gambit was running on the roof in origins for that stupid helicopter charge lol. I was laughing so damn hard on that fight scene. It was like seeing the casting announcements far that dragonball movie.
MisterNiceGuy - 3/19/2013, 12:27 PM
This movie will have to be reaaaaalllly [frick]ing mind blowing for me to completely neglect the other movies and see this as its own entity. *fingers crossed*
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/19/2013, 12:41 PM
Getting sick of these.
Scabsallover - 3/19/2013, 1:01 PM
He'll get the suit in the climactic ending sequence. They really have one last shot at Wolverine before people give up I think. I've been wrong before though.
chuckg313 - 3/19/2013, 3:12 PM
Why do these goofy directors think that a trench coat is the best look for wolvie and sabretooth???????? Goth isnt scary or sweet ! Get away from the "creepy black coat thing" it blows!
chuckg313 - 3/19/2013, 3:26 PM
Orpehus....i agree to an extent but there should be a happy medium this wolverine not hamlet......alot of wolvie fans like to see violence particularly in the stylish exciting way that wolvie can dish it out.as far as the xostume
id love to see some iconic shots of him in action in some version of his costume....i want drama, i want action....it CAN be done (see Batman
keeters - 3/19/2013, 3:39 PM
if this is anything at all like the early 00's Marvel Knights Wolvie taking on The Hand then it will be the best Marvel flick FOX is capable of making.
NeoBaggins - 3/19/2013, 10:14 PM
@chuckg313 You're right about the cliche trench coat. It's ironic, because Logan can be found at any given time wearing an outdoor jacket that doesn't reach his waste.

The Matrix still owns the world.
