Manu Bennett's 'Slade Wilson' Promoted To Series Regular For Second Season Of ARROW

Colton Haynes (Roy Harper) and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) were recently promoted to series regulars on the CW's Arrow and now Manu Bennett's Slade Wilson will also have a larger role in the already confirmed second season of the show. Read on for details!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Manu Bennett has been promoted to series regular by the CW for the second season of Arrow. He plays Slade Wilson in the show, and while he has so far been portrayed as an ally to Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen in flashback's to his time on the island, it remains to be seen whether this means we will see him take on his villainous persona as Deathstroke. Other actors have so far been used to portray the well-known DC Comics villain, but do you think now is the time for Slade Wilson to make his small screen debut on Arrow as Deathstroke? I really like the dynamic that him and oliver have on the island is really good, i dont want him 2 become a villain until part 2 of season 2...csnt wait 4 new episode 2nite

Thats awesome news and cant wait to see him fully become Deathstroke and make his way to Starling city to take on " The Hood ", maybe they can play it off that Oliver crosses him somehow on the island that makes Slade hate him and fully taking on the persona himself.

Thats 3 more regulars so obviously someone will get cut.

David Ramsey/John Diggle early in the season seemed to be headed towards being a significant part of the series and that wouldve been cool. Hes done well with the bits theyve gave him.

But lately his character has been pushed back and it looks like they have no intention of developing him. And with Emily Bett Rickards/Felicity Smoak playing "Chloe" now I guess that makes Diggs "Pete Ross".

The show starts with 2 black guys and it just so happens both have seen their roles reduced significantly and one is pretty much written into limbo.

Fully agree that would be great cliffhanger

Have oliver and Deathstroke in full costume facing eachother on a roof, with Oliver asking " Slade?"

And he repsonds back " No Oliver not anymore, My name is Deathstroke"

Have Slade charging at him and right when theyre about to throwdown end the episode right there and then :D

what would be cool is if Slade appeared in the present as a full-on bad guy Deathstroke, while he is still "good" in the flashbacks. would make people wonder how he turned, and would crave to see it, instead of seeing his transformation and guess how it will obviously turn out.

He is easily the best character on this show. Now we're finding out he taught Oliver how to fight; makes me excited for season 2.

I think Thea is on the cutting block. Given Thea's connection to Roy Harper her death would make a good lead in to Roy joining Oliver and taking the name Speedy as a tribute.

I'm also sure either Tommy or Malcolm Merlyn will go.

YES!!! More Slade!

I'm really looking forward to how they're going to develop this character-- after all, he IS supposed to be Deathstroke, one of the most badass villains in the DCU. Right now, though, he's just an incredibly badass anti-hero. But Bennett makes the character a hell of a lot of fun to watch, and his interactions with Oliver are phenomenal!

This show just seems to be getting better and better...

I think that something bad happens on the island where we find out Slade is actually not a good guy. We did see his mask all tore up on a stick on the first episode and it isn't the other Deathstroke guy's that Slade killed.

@superbatspiderman- yea I can see that. Slade is a master at manipulation. He and Olly need each other to get off the island, but I have a feeling once Slade finds the opening he's gone.

The show has 2 different characters wearing the Deathstroke mask. The other one already lost his eye, so I wonder if they're going to make that one Deathstroke, and have Slade be a good guy who might turn bad at some point.
