Zoe Saldana Talks About Going Green For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY; Praises James Gunn

Kevin Feige seemingly confirmed that Zoe Saldana had indeed joined the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy in an interview with 'Entertainment Weekly', but now the actress herself talks about joining the cast and shares her thoughts on James Gunn, Chris Pratt, the screenplay and more.

Talking to Absolute Radio at the world premiere of Star Trek Into Darkness earlier today, Zoe Saldana was asked to share her thoughts on being cast as Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy. "I'm gonna be green! [Laughs] I'm really looking forward to it. I just met James Gunn in person this week and I think that he's the best director to be making this film." As for how Saldana feels about the team not being particularly well known to non-comic book readers, the actress confessed that this doesn't worry her too much and that she's looking forward to getting to know the character a little better herself. "I wasn't either and my sister was the one who told me about it! I think it's always worked for me to learn as I go. The moment I get the job, that's when I start doing the research and I end up falling completely in love with the franchise." Finally, she had nothing but praise for Gunn, the screenplay and even Star-Lord himself! "I do know that I loved the script. I got along with James Gunn from talking to him on the phone and I love the cast selection that they have. Chris Pratt is gonna be an amazing Star-Lord, I can feel it."

i don't really find her that hot,i think she is alright & i would if i got a chance to but i don't think she's hot.

i also think she is the wrong choice for gamora, marvel must see something in her that i don't.

still can't wait to see guardians of the galaxy its gonna own phase 2.

@ greengo

i hope you enjoy it,i did but i may be the wrong person to ask.

definitely better than iron man 2 but not as good as iron man. 4/5

MrCameron - 5/2/2013, 5:47 PM
LOL @ Ror

And for those of you saying that she's too skinny for the role:

This is Chris Hemmsworth pre-Thor
AlexanderLykins - 5/2/2013, 5:47 PM
Zoe better be badass in this movie or I am going to be pissed. I liked what I saw in 'Columbiana', so we'll see.
Ocelot - 5/2/2013, 5:48 PM
@Ror the casting speaks of reverse racism against green people, i'm a comic "purist" so I aint watching this shit unless Gamora's played by a green skinned actress.
CoulsonLives - 5/2/2013, 5:49 PM
Now for them to announce Spidey is in the MCU... PLEASE!
MrCameron - 5/2/2013, 5:51 PM

OtakuPapi - 5/2/2013, 5:59 PM
would've preferred Olivia Wilde for this role, but at least the chick can act!
supercajun - 5/2/2013, 5:59 PM
I think that after reading the me GoTG that Bendis is putting out that Adma Sandler could bring the attitude. Sorry to say it but he would do ok. Also I could hear Jim Carrey saying GROOOOOOOOOT!!!
MrCameron - 5/2/2013, 6:05 PM
@ supercajun

Adam Sandler?

kevberg - 5/2/2013, 6:05 PM

marvel72 - 5/2/2013, 6:05 PM

CoulsonLives - 5/2/2013, 6:06 PM
Can we get a funny Brit to do Rocket?
sexfoodcomics - 5/2/2013, 6:08 PM
I bbet she will be blue since Drax is green I doubt they will make them both green.
kevberg - 5/2/2013, 6:09 PM
taylor cole, rachel nicholls or lynn collins...
darkjoker1 - 5/2/2013, 6:11 PM
i think she would be a great gamora :) why becuse she is a fantastic actress and she has the skills :D
gambgel - 5/2/2013, 6:13 PM

" putta da lazer down you space-a-faring douche-a bag"
mctrinket - 5/2/2013, 6:14 PM
Not a fan of her. Bad choice.
Super12 - 5/2/2013, 6:14 PM
@ocelot - oh, I see what you did there! By taking a similar argument from the Johnny Storm thread and amplifying it to an absurd degree you make it seem as if their argument is just as inane in the first place! Brilliant! Clearly your opinion is the better of the two, good sir.
CoulsonLives - 5/2/2013, 6:19 PM
Who should voice Groot?
CoulsonLives - 5/2/2013, 6:21 PM
A guy with a deep voice?
