We don't know exactly WHO she's playing as of yet, but The Hollywood Reporter has today revealed that Karen Gillan - who is best known for playing 'Amy Pond' in BBC's Doctor Who - has joined the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy as the lead female villain. This week has already seen Glenn Close cast as the head of the intergalactic Nova Corps, while Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista are currently signed up as the three lead Guardians. Lee Pace was recently cast as the lead male villain (believed to be 'The Collector') in the James Gunn helmed movie, while Ophelia Lovibond was brought on board to play his aide. Who do you guys think Gillan is playing?

Woah

Eccleston as main Thor villain, Gillan as main GOTG villain.

Whats next? Tennant as main Avengers 2 villain? Piper as Iron Man 4 villain?

Someone at Marvel is a huge Doctor Who fan.
LucasMend - 5/31/2013, 5:20 PM
Holy crap. Doctor Who people invading the marvel cinematic universe!
She's really beautiful and really good actress, that's gonna be nice to see. I'm now interesting in GOTG mostly because of the cast. It is great!
LucasMend - 5/31/2013, 5:20 PM
Congrats to Karen, she is an actress who deserves big hollywood movies, and that's a good start.

RyGoR - 5/31/2013, 5:33 PM
I wanna know who's Groot :(
DrDoom - 5/31/2013, 5:34 PM
Mistress Death and Nebula are the only options I can think of.
TheSpaceGhost - 5/31/2013, 5:35 PM
Looks like the Matriarch will appear!

Benjamitesandwich - 5/31/2013, 5:35 PM
Phyla-Vell, Moondragon, and Mantis are ruled out because they're good. That is unless something is possessing them (which is the only explanation for why Yondu could be a villain). We'll see what goes down.

Wait! What about NEBULA?!
Milling - 5/31/2013, 5:36 PM
OMFW YES!
SageMode - 5/31/2013, 5:36 PM

mawilli4 - 5/31/2013, 5:36 PM
I hope Death, please, oh God, please.
PeterDarker - 5/31/2013, 5:37 PM
Death? Why would they cast her as someone that never speaks?
Benjamitesandwich - 5/31/2013, 5:39 PM
If she wasn't a villain, she could be a great Mantis.
JoshWilding - 5/31/2013, 5:40 PM
Not a villain, but...

darkjoker1 - 5/31/2013, 5:41 PM

DrDoom - 5/31/2013, 5:41 PM
@Khan

Lead FEMALE villain, my friend. Lee Pace is playing the lead male villain.

Or, perhaps the author of this article needs to do a little revising. One or the other.
marvel72 - 5/31/2013, 5:41 PM
f*ck knows who she'll be,but i'm glad she has been cast very sexy women.
Lozzy - 5/31/2013, 5:43 PM

SageMode - 5/31/2013, 5:43 PM
KHAN

Lead MALE villain: Lee Pee

Lead FEMALE villain: Karen Gillan
LucasMend - 5/31/2013, 5:43 PM
She being annoying in some episodes is mostly writers fault, look at matt smith, he is amazing at some episodes, but recently he's being written as a retarded child. Karen was one of the best things of years 5-7. She's a real young british acting talent.
Benjamitesandwich - 5/31/2013, 5:43 PM
I still think Lee Pace isn't playing a villain and is Richard Rider. There's always room for hope.
CherryBomb - 5/31/2013, 5:44 PM
YES!
So excited. Karen is such a good actress, love her charisma and she's drop dead gorgeous.

The fact she's playing a villain is even better.

Facade - 5/31/2013, 5:44 PM
@JoshWilding...could we actually see that costume, too?!
SimyJo - 5/31/2013, 5:45 PM

Awwww yeaaah! - cool choice!, she was great as Amy in Dr Who.
PsyGuy - 5/31/2013, 5:45 PM
