"Right now, I'm still pretty tied up with Castle," Nathan Fillion told IGN Movies when asked if he has any interest in reteaming with his close friends Joss Whedon or James Gunn for either of their upcoming Marvel Studios comic book movies, The Avengers 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy. "I have a couple of years of that to go. We're having a great time, we're telling some great stories and we're enjoying it. Joss and James have done so much for me, I'm not the guy that goes knocking at their door and goes, 'Do some more for me!' You know what I mean? They're doing great stuff right now and I'm having a great time right now, so I think that once I wrap up Castle, and we get a little more free time one our hands... [Nods]" As for those rumours about him playing Ant-Man and the like, the actor confirmed that anything we may have heard in the past is simply not true! "People want to believe that, but actually, I never have!" What role do you think Nathan Fillion would be well-suited for in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Of coarse its Castle. Just like how we most likely wont be seeing Jensen Ackles in any superhero movie any time soon. They're too dedicated to their tv shows to do anything else.
elcaballerooscuro92 - 6/7/2013, 5:06 PM

LucasMend - 6/7/2013, 5:19 PM
In Marvel not sure, but he would be an interesting rebooted hal jordan!
MrMartinMarvel - 6/7/2013, 5:19 PM
He would make a pretty good Scorpion.
Super12 - 6/7/2013, 5:22 PM
He's a bit too old to be Green Lantern, unfortunately...
Mr2099 - 6/7/2013, 5:24 PM
@BlueMax have you seen the latest trailer for Percy Jackson 2? He has lost weight.
kemuael - 6/7/2013, 5:29 PM
i can see him as Scorpion
lanternstorm - 6/7/2013, 5:29 PM
he does have the right voice for Jordan, but I'd have to see him in some darker roles before I could say for sure if he'd be good for GL. As for Marvel, he probably would never sign onto a Marvel film because they know how strong the fan base is for him to sign onto a new GL Movie, they'd put a stipulation of No DC movies for a certain amount of time after being in a Marvel film into his contract... However, I could see him as Wonderman or Sentry
KaneRomita - 6/7/2013, 5:33 PM
Alan Tudyk for Hank Pym.
MegatronLP9 - 6/7/2013, 5:34 PM
He should consider Ant Man he has the Charm and funny wit lik him
dnno1 - 6/7/2013, 5:35 PM
He's tied up with "Castle" but he certainly isn't too busy to voice Green Lantern or voice Johnny Worthington in "Monsters University", or even play Hermes in "Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters". Oh Well...
LucasMend - 6/7/2013, 5:43 PM
Ewan Mcgregor for Hanky Pym.
RorMachine - 6/7/2013, 5:49 PM
The thing is...Castle is shite!
NBAfanaddict - 6/7/2013, 5:51 PM
I've seen him when I watched a little Firefly and Castle and thought he would be a good Hal. Then i watched Justice League: Doom and saw this scene:

And I finally understand why he was a fan favorite for Hal all of these years. He would own the role. And he's roughly the same age RDJ was when he played Stark, so age shouldn't be a huge problem. Can't see him playing anyone in the MCU really aside from Ant-Man. Maybe Quartermain. Would've been cool if he played Star-Lord.

@dnn1, voice-overs take like 4 hours a day for a week or 2 usually at most. Not the same as a 4 month movie + press tour.
Upstartcrow - 6/7/2013, 5:53 PM
If he muscled up, he'd make a decent Daredevil.
PaulRom - 6/7/2013, 5:55 PM
He'd be perfect for Hal Jordan if he was a bit younger. I really hope he ends up getting a Marvel or DC role one of these days.
mctrinket - 6/7/2013, 6:00 PM
"Right now, I'm still pretty tied up with Castle,"

So you choose to focus on a crappy detective show over a chance to be in a major motion picture? That's pretty stupid.
TheAbomination - 6/7/2013, 6:08 PM
When Fillion's ready to be cast in a Marvel movie, they'll cast him in a Marvel movie.
jerryblake - 6/7/2013, 6:16 PM
@ClaireLannister2016

not sure if it's dedication, or simply the contract.
I remember Pierce Brosnan couldn't play James Bond this one time because of his "Remington Steele" obligations.
Hugh Laurie is now free from House so he's making "Tomorrowland".
He declined to be in "Robocop".
Michael C. Hall is tied up to Dexter, the only big movie he choose to sign for was "Gamer".
Still no (from my side) for Michael as Daredevil. As much as I like this guy, i wouldn't want to hear Matt speking Dexter voice :(
jerryblake - 6/7/2013, 6:41 PM
Gusto ... How's your son doing nowadays ?

jerryblake - 6/7/2013, 6:53 PM
@sKeemAn

i see what you did there :)
ManCalledSting - 6/7/2013, 6:55 PM
The real reason.....he's a DC guy.
DrDoom - 6/7/2013, 6:59 PM
Cancel Castle and stuff him in something already.

He's practically become a running gag at this point
LMFA0 - 6/7/2013, 7:04 PM
@lanternstorm

I think it's funny that people think that these big studios care who people want for a role in a movie. It's more about money, contracts, and the movies producers than who the studios get to play the role. To be honest, Nathan is a cool guy and has done a few decent things but he's not a big name and not a big draw. Not many people really know who he is, so I don't see him getting any roles by either of the major studios for any kind of superhero roles. Just my opinion.
LoudLon - 6/7/2013, 7:21 PM
Nathan Fillion for Moon Knight.

Jensen Ackles for Unus the Untouchable.

CharlesLord - 6/7/2013, 7:35 PM
I could see him as punisher after a couple of eps of this past seasons castle. Other than that, I dont really know any other characters that he would nail
TheBaroness89 - 6/7/2013, 7:36 PM
Fillion for Hank Pym please
DaenerysTargaryen - 6/7/2013, 7:59 PM
Nathan Fillion for EVERYBODY! :D
WackyBantha - 6/7/2013, 7:59 PM
Maybe he can be cast as Ant-man on the SHIELD tv show after he is done with Castle. I don't know much about Ant-man. Does this make sense? This might help the Ant-man movie a little. But I really don't know. I'm just throwing out kooky ideas.
LuckDragon - 6/7/2013, 8:36 PM
@McGee
I was at that game.

@McGee & Gusto
Grow up.

I don't know...I think there is some other reason he hasn't been in a major motion picture movie recently. I mean how long ago was Serenity?
Zuriel - 6/7/2013, 9:01 PM
All I want to see him in is new episodes of Firefly resurrected by Netflix. And as we have seen proven now by Arrested Development, the actors don't even have to be available to film at the same time or in the same place.
sameoldthing - 6/7/2013, 9:15 PM
Castle is wasting his time...drop that show & make a good movie sir.
GodzillaKart - 6/7/2013, 9:43 PM
What's Castle?
jimoakley666 - 6/7/2013, 9:46 PM
I don't really 'get' Fillion. Or, I should say, I don't 'get' the love for him.
Coolwhip - 6/7/2013, 10:08 PM
Yeah, well, when he learns how to act, he can be in a Marvel movie.
bls91183 - 6/7/2013, 10:23 PM
@jimoakley666
sorry to hear that, jim.. i guess we can't all be perfect :)
Danbojohnj - 6/7/2013, 10:47 PM
