More From Zack Snyder On JUSTICE LEAGUE And Superman's Role In The Team

"The truth is that we really want to make sure that Superman is working," Zack Snyder replied when asked in the below video interview if he is interested in helming a Justice League movie for Warner Bros. and DC. "You can’t make a Justice League movie without Superman at the top, at the helm of the Justice League." It almost sounds as if Snyder believes that Superman should be the one leading the team, but regardless of whether or not you agree with that sentiment, there's no denying that the character is vital in a film such as this. However, when asked directly if he would like to be the one to take control of the superhero team on the big screen, Syder said: "Listen, I’m super-excited about the world that we created for Superman, and it’s been great fun. And it’s certainly something that I would be happy to talk about if people were interested in seeing more Superman." What do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

I think some of these Superman stories are getting pretty redundant
No offense
I want JL and MOS2 as much as the next guy
C17Swampy - 6/10/2013, 5:30 PM
Superman is the emotional and moral leader. Batman has to be the second one in command who willingly gives in to Superman because he feels his way is better. IMO if you don't portray their relationship correctly it won't work.
EdgyOutsider - 6/10/2013, 5:31 PM
@Levi: Snyder could produce but keep him far away from directing and farther from writing. Have you not seen Suckerpunch?
SonGoku - 6/10/2013, 5:33 PM
@Crossbones Have you not seen Watchmen?
BANEofExistence - 6/10/2013, 5:34 PM
Superman/Batman film, Man of Steel sequel (eventual trilogy), The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Batman reboot...

RT has a sick TV spot. Not uploaded here yet?

LordoftheThrones26 - 6/10/2013, 5:36 PM
Superman has to be the leader abd posterboy for Justice League!
Green Lantern
Martian Manhunter
DrDoom - 6/10/2013, 5:36 PM

Add Doctor Fate and you're in business

@Levi couldnt agree more. but no writing for Snyder, just directing.
Matchow - 6/10/2013, 5:37 PM
Supes and Bats are two sides of the "leader" coin when it comes to JL. Superman is the public face and inspiration, Batman is the tactician and motivator.
LordoftheThrones26 - 6/10/2013, 5:38 PM
Get snyder to direct and Goyer to writte! Maybe get Nolan to produce if you can and REBOOT Green Lantern!
Matchow - 6/10/2013, 5:38 PM
Also, DR. Fate, however unlikely, would be ABSOLUTELY kickass.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 6/10/2013, 5:39 PM
STFU with the jl questions. The man is trying to promote what he did with Superman and all he gets asked about is JL
CaptainObvious - 6/10/2013, 5:40 PM
@LEVITIKUZ- Aquaman owns 70% of the Earth. He is far from being a lame and useless character.
LordoftheThrones26 - 6/10/2013, 5:40 PM
EdgyOutsider - 6/10/2013, 5:42 PM
@Levi: No one ever said Snyder as director. As I said, have him produce. Keep him away from the directors chair and farther from writing. I don't trust him. Still thinking of seeing Man of Steel though.

Here's my team roster for a debut, Justice League movie

Wonder Woman
The Flash
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan, John Stewart. You pick)
and Martian Manhunter to be introduced in the movie cause of White Martians (use ALL of their abilities, get everyone involved in it) in the movie.

@TheGreenSpeedster: Yes, I have. I love it and think its brilliant but it's one of two Zack Snyder movies that I consider good and that I like.
marvel72 - 6/10/2013, 5:44 PM
snyder should do green lantern & the flash before a justice league movie.
MrCBM56 - 6/10/2013, 5:45 PM

No! AQUAMAN has to be In it. He is just as important to the team then flash in The new 52. Plus he and WONDER WOMAN would have great chemistry in the movie being kings/queens and warriors and such. And isn't he in you JL script?
TheWolverine08 - 6/10/2013, 5:46 PM
Superman should be the "heart" of the team. He should inspire when everyone has given up. Batman should be the leader who makes the hard decisions.
SonGoku - 6/10/2013, 5:46 PM
@earzmundo Flash not relevant?

ThatOneDude - 6/10/2013, 5:48 PM
Superman is the leader, the emotional and moral balance of the team.

Batman is the background man, it's not his job to lead, his job is to get the team through a mission alive (strategically speaking)

But Supes is the leader.
MrCBM56 - 6/10/2013, 5:49 PM

Aquaman could just flood the whole damn city if he wanted too! Lol but seriously, that's one thing people tend to forget. When aquaman isn't in waterr, he still contain all of his attributes. He is a warrior. He is a fighter. He would do fine. All of his strength and attributes doesnt come from water although he is greatly enhanced.
TheWolverine08 - 6/10/2013, 5:49 PM
Superman doesn't have the personality of a leader.
thewolfx - 6/10/2013, 5:49 PM
Superman >batman

exe - 6/10/2013, 5:50 PM
This is cool and all but I want a MOS sequel first. Or World's Finest.
TheYoungMan - 6/10/2013, 5:51 PM
So, is Snyder definitely making another Superman movie? Whether it be Justice League or Man of Steel 2?
MrCBM56 - 6/10/2013, 5:51 PM

I like that you have him as the main charecter. People just see Fkash as a big goofball but he is a great and compelling charecter. I cannot wait to see your finished JL script!
RHd2 - 6/10/2013, 5:52 PM
I kinda feel sorry for Snyder. All he wants to do is talk about his new movie, and all anyone can do is talk about a movie that doesn't even exist in any shape or

That being said. Yes, Aquaman is in.

That Time Is Now . . . that is after MOS, then the time is now :)

JohnTom88 - 6/10/2013, 5:53 PM
Roughly speaking, Batman is the waterboy.

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 6/10/2013, 5:55 PM
I am right there with you.
JatevinM - 6/10/2013, 5:56 PM
Considering the fact that Aquaman is the king of 70% of the Earth he is a must for the Justice League. If nothing else the New 52 has proven that he is a pretty damn good character with a pretty damn good skill set. He doesn't have to be near water to be a bad ass because he still is an expert at hand to hand combat and weapons combat, he still has super strength, and he is also damn near bulletproof. Anyone who tries to talk shit about Aquaman is only familiar with the crap the shows like Robot Chicken has to say about him.
JatevinM - 6/10/2013, 5:57 PM
Everybody keeps acting like Synder isn't the one who directed Man of Steel.
CaptShipwreck - 6/10/2013, 6:01 PM
Follow the marvel route or fail , pretty simple
Ocelot - 6/10/2013, 6:03 PM
Batman will always be at the forefront and main lead in a live action Justice League, Batman's the main draw, the most popular and the one who brings in the big dollars consistently so will thus be marketed at the forefront and as the leader WB know this. He'll be the one who does the things which heavily effect the plot and the one who derails the villian or motivates the team.
Scooby - 6/10/2013, 6:04 PM
Let's enjoy MOS, hope it does well and gives WB confidence enough to go forward with a DCU. But for now let's enjoy our first Superman movie EVER! Reeve and Donner was cool, but this is it - this is Superman! Let's all who are fans enjoy this moment. This is the guy that started the whole superhero comic book industry - and it looks like the people involved have put their heart and soul into it . . . and love :) All you need is love man . . . and a rubber suit, farm animals, and a kiwi
TheSisko - 6/10/2013, 6:05 PM
@Levi Goyer yes, those other guys you mentioned, hell NO! Green Lantern and Smallville is proof positive that no one Johns should stick to comics, Timm should stick to animation which he loves. Dini seems busy with Marvel these days but I would mind him less then Timm and Johns.IMO DC should look for writers that would blend well with there dark and uber serious take on superheroes.
