BOX OFFICE: Final Numbers For MAN OF STEEL's Opening Weekend Revealed
The last few days have seen various predictions and official numbers pour in, but now that the weekend is over, we have the final figures for both Man of Steel's three and four day totals at the North American box office. Hit the jump for details!
After taking an additional $36.3 million on Sunday, the Zack Snyder directed and Christopher Nolan produced Man of Steel's new totals are $116.7 million for the three day weekend and a four-day total of $128.7 million (that's $3 million more than expected). To put that into perspective for you, Superman Returns' three-day total was $52 million, The Amazing Spider-Man's (another high profile reboot) earned $62 million and Marvel's The Avengers took a whopping $207 million. However you look at it, this was a great start for Man of Steel! The worldwide cume for the movie is now $200.3 million and it has gone down as having the best June opening of all-time domestically.
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time.
