There were rumours not too long ago of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart shooting a scene together for The Wolverine which would lead into X-Men: Days of Future Past. Well, whether or not that is indeed the scene is unknown, but Jackman has at least now confirmed that there is in fact an after-credits stinger which sets up Bryan Singer's X-Men: First Class "inbetweequel". "There's a lot of great actors in it, and if you stick around to the end of the credit of The Wolverine, you're going to get a really nice little Easter Egg for what Days of Future Past has to offer...which we can't reveal!" So, it seems Fox are taking a page from Marvel's book! What would you guys like to see in this scene? Be sure to ound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

I love after credits scenes. They are like extra innings in baseball.

Int Bar
Logan is sitting at a bar drinking a beer and looking like a bad ass.
The door swings open, a bell gives a light ring signaling the entrance of one Charles Xavier.
Charles sits next to Logan.

Logan: I thought you were dead

Charles: I thought you told me to [frick] off

Logan: Probably.... I do that a lot

Charles: He's back...

Logan: Who ?

Charles: Bryan Singer

Logan: So the band is getting back together ?

Charles: Sort of....

Logan: Cyclops still dead ? Jean ?

Charles: Dead and Dead but Singer has a plan...

Logan: What did you do with young Emma Frost and young Quick Silver after we rescued them off that island ?

Charles: Well Emma went back to the 60s and grew huge breasts... Quick Silver is still a teenager but he is around somewhere.

Logan: Time and continuity are pretty screwed up huh ?

Charles: Don't worry- it's Fox. It will all be figured out

Logan: yeah right

Charles: Logan- I'm here to talk to you about the Mutant Initiative....

Logan: [frick] off

Charles: we have a Puerto Rican stripper you have to meet...careful though- she is a spitter.

End

"So, it seems Fox are taking a page from Marvel's book!"

Why ?

Fox were the first to start the after credits with X-Men: The Last Stand.
Orphix - 7/17/2013, 4:21 AM
Wow! An after credit sequence just like a Marvel Studios film.

Could be worse I suppose. They could be using the same characters!!

...ah...just remembered....
MightyZeus - 7/17/2013, 4:22 AM
The Wolverine is going to be the best cbm of the year. Bring on the after credits scene

The iron man 3 after credit scene was such a let down. Worst after credit scene of the MCU.
sameoldthing - 7/17/2013, 4:24 AM
It's a scene where Logan stumbles across Charles Xavier & Magneto actually f__king themselves.
Wolverine tells you to do something..you damn well do it!
TheTrueAvenger - 7/17/2013, 4:25 AM
@Baroness

Haha good shit, I'd actually love it if that was it. It won't be, but it'd be so funny.
MrMartinMarvel - 7/17/2013, 4:33 AM
FUX may have been the first to have a post credit scene, but honestly at this point they're clearly just copying Marvel.
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 7/17/2013, 4:45 AM
I love after credit scenes in comic book films. Oddly enough, it's more of a past-time to me than Baseball is to America. I get so giddy sitting through the credits in anticipation for a 30 second clip.

Anyways, hope Thor 2 has one as well!

"So, it seems Fox are taking a page from Marvel's book!"

Uhhhh..... You do acknowledge Fox was the first to put a post-credits scene after a comic book movie right? First it was Daredevil, then X3: The Last Stand. Well, technically, the first CBM was Phantom Menace with the whole Darth Vader breathing and shit but you know.

didich - 7/17/2013, 5:00 AM
Fox was the first to do the post-credits scene in a CBM though Marvel Studios popularized and was the first to sue it as a 'world-building device', in the sense that most PCS either showed something extra, something irrelevant or a hook for direct sequel (Marvel, on the other side, used them to show other aspects of their cinematic universe, like with Iron Man 2 and Thor's Hammer), which is what Fox is doing doing here (considering The Wolverine was originally planned as a stand-alone or spin-off and has little to no relation to the First Class series).

RyGoR - "I just want to see a sentinel that is all"

They are there but invisible.

LMAO If they did something like that, it would be awesome.
ETPHHM1 - 7/17/2013, 5:08 AM
we will finally get to see Hugh Jackman in the classic Wolverine Yellow & Brown suit:

PeterParker1991 - 7/17/2013, 5:10 AM
Ok. Ten times more excited for this now..
jessepostal - 7/17/2013, 5:26 AM
@thegambit, masters of the universe in 1987 had a post credit scene :)
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 7/17/2013, 5:32 AM
@Jessepostal: Yeah, never saw that. Lol. He-Man wasn't ma' thang. lol. They've been doing after credits scenes for ever. I think even one of the Bond films had a post credits scene.
SoundWave - 7/17/2013, 5:33 AM
What is in the extra scene? Yesterday was London premiere. Why no one write description?(( Embargo for all audience? meh...
jessepostal - 7/17/2013, 5:45 AM
@gambit, it's a fun cheesy watch :) ya I think her majesty's secret service did.
SoundWave - 7/17/2013, 5:52 AM
Jazza815, also in Fox's "Daredevil" extra scene in theatrical cut.
jaysin420 - 7/17/2013, 6:07 AM
I don't get why Fox get's so much crap and Marvel always get a pass when it come to continuity.

And I'm not comparing the actual movies (I love pretty much all the Marvel movies), just the continuity.

For me, Marvel's issues are much worse considering they actually planned out their movie universe ahead of time.

I loved all their post-credit scenes but if you go back and watch them now after Avengers, most of them make no sense. Plus they had to recast 2 major character's early on an there's just a ton of other stuff.
subzero1077 - 7/17/2013, 6:34 AM
Hope its the rumored brown and yellow costume, otherwise [frick] off.
IronManOfSteel - 7/17/2013, 6:41 AM
I actually think Fox may be getting their shit together. I think that this shows the studios performances in the last year or so.

Marvel Studios = Staying Same (Iron Man 3 was alright but post credits scene was shit.)
Fox = Rising ( Wolverine looks good and now that the X Force and DOFP is coming seems good)
Sony= Staying Same ( They have a DECENT spidey franchise now)
WB/DC = Dropping ( Man of Steel was very very good but it really hurts their rep that they arent announcing other films for their DCCU.)
KeefNCookies - 7/17/2013, 6:47 AM
@RaccoonWithRockets
The Shwarma scene was far more worthless, especially since it was at the end of an actual good movie unlike the ultra-garbage IM3
marvel72 - 7/17/2013, 6:57 AM
either a destroyed x-mansion or sentinels rounding up mutants.
TheBeard - 7/17/2013, 7:39 AM
a sentinel would in the ruined future would be sweet for the after credits scene. Guess we will find out though.
CharlesLord - 7/17/2013, 8:06 AM
i just wanna see how theyre gonna tie them together cuz i know its gonna be so terrible lol
m0th3r - 7/17/2013, 8:10 AM
How original...a scene at the end of the movie to tease the next...wonder who they got that idea from. Fox blows...
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 7/17/2013, 8:15 AM
YES
MercSoul - 7/17/2013, 8:19 AM
....who cares, after that i read the description of the story i dont wanna see x-men dofp
charlie2094 - 7/17/2013, 8:42 AM
@JaySin420

Recasting doesn't count as a continuity error and as Omega pointed out, all the after credits scene work perfectly fine and the only one that doesn't fit in Incredible Hulks, but that was fixed with the Consultant. Fox have messed up huge amounts on continuity, Marvel haven't.
RJ4651 - 7/17/2013, 8:50 AM
Most X-Men movies have after credit scenes. This isn't really news. And I bet I could tell you what the scene is about and who's in it.
Whiteandgold - 7/17/2013, 9:09 AM
Xmen started the after credit scenes not marvel. Damn haters. Xmen fox ftw!
jaysin420 - 7/17/2013, 9:23 AM
@Omega and Charlie

How about Loki controlling Selvig before the Avengers?

I didn't realize all the other issues until I found this article last week.

beane2099 - 7/17/2013, 9:47 AM
People act like the post credit scene is something new. I would direct your attention to a movie called Planes, Trains and Automobiles released in 1987 which did that as well. And that wasn't the first movie to do it either.
comicb00kguy - 7/17/2013, 10:12 AM
One of the nice things about after-credits scenes is that they show you who the true geeks in the theater are. The posers all run for the door as soon as the credits start.

This sounds like an interesting promo for Days of Future Past, and maybe something pretty cool.

"So, it seems Fox are taking a page from Marvel's book!"

You guys do know that there was an after credits scene in X-Men: The Last Tand indicating Charles Xavier's fate which could lead to other planned X-Men films right?

Comments like those are the reasons why I say to myself everyone has been brainwashed by Disney/Marvel. People have been so focused on The Avengers they think everyone else is copying Whedon/Smith...smh
