The Wolverine and Man of Steel were both evenly matched to me but I'd probably say MOS gets a 9/10 while The Wolverine gets an 8.5/10! =,)

In all honesty the "critics" fricked us all over this summer! That's why I told people to go see some of these films for themselves!

50 mln for "Kick-Ass" is not bad. It will start in new counries next weekend 5th september, maybe worldwide it will gross among 100 mln. Great movie!

Still need to see Elysium(though i've heard it's average), not wasting my time with Kick Ass 2, Riddick up next. Never got round to seeing World War Z but I heard it was intense and good. Best movie i've watched this summer is Star Trek 2 followed by The Wolverine.

No real surprise that a big budget western filmed bombed. What idiot decided to greenlight that film with a budget of $250M, should have been half of that, guess Depp wanted a stupid amount of money for it.

Nope it's just not you. I feel like the Marketing for Thor 2 is a bit slow considering what the marketing for IM3 was. I think they need to push this film in the marketing department.

Budget for Kick-Ass 2 was $28M, so its BO figures are going very well.

The only movies I was disappointed by was Elysium and The Lone Ranger (which was genuinely awful).

Man of Steel, Iron Man 3, The Wolverine, and Star Trek Into Darkness were all great and I'm sick of the critic/fanboy hate.

A lot of people didn't take their kids to see Superman after hearing he kills Zod. Unfortunately for those people they don't realize he's killed quite a few times before in the comics and left a lot of villains to die in his earlier days before the Comics Code Authority turned him into a smiling blue scout. Fortunately for the movie it still made quite a good box office haul and now its just been released in Japan, it can only add more to the profits.

Best comic book movie since Watchmen, can't wait to see it on bluray.

Everyone calm down about Superman killing Zod. It was necessary.

Wonder Woman kills her enemies.

Man of Steel was the best movie this year so far imo, followed by Elysium and Star Trek.

I dunno what to do with my feelings about Kick-Ass 2. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm just so.. I dunno. Kick-Ass is one of my fave movies. I think that gained another wonderful dimension in the transition to becoming a movie, and I guess I should've realised that a second one was never going to top that.

I wish I hadn't checked out the critical reception beforehand - that I had just gone in fresh with it like I typically do with movies I've looked forward to a great deal. Hopefully I can get around to seeing it in the theater before it's gone.

I did genuinely love most of The Wolverine and I'm glad that's doing well, however. I can go either way on a sequel to that. It doesn't need one, I'm wholly satisfied with the story it told, but I wouldn't mind one either. Provided they stick to a location and keep it intimate and grounded and fairly mutant-less like the first, they have a unique flavour that I wouldn't mind having around as a palette cleanser in-between the X-Men extravaganzas.

Man of Steel disappointed me personally, but I'm glad it did well, because it's a ship worth righting. With Affleck on board my interest really skyrocketed for Batman/Superman, and at this point I just wish DC's trouble-ridden cinematic universe the best. They're off to a rocky start, but since this is the path they've chosen, I just hope it works out.

The rest I had no investment in at all. I haven't even seen Pacific Rim, but I appreciate getting to experience the feeling most general movie-goers must have when they watch trailers for all these comic properties I'm super into. Sometimes there just isn't anything inherently compelling about some of these premises unless you come pre-equipped with nostalgia or love for a property. Had Pacific Rim been Robotech or summat, I would've planted my butt in that theater day 1, but the sole promise of giant robots fighting monsters doesn't really do it for me. It kinda has to hook into something I already cared about. It's sorta interesting....

Anyhoo, yah. May punters keep punting for CBMs for years to come -- we all know it's a phase that will eventually come to an end, and instead of getting costumes wrong in movies we DO GET, we'll get no movies at all. So enjoy 'em while we got 'em people! Don't wish for something to flop just because YOU can tell one super hero from the next, because movie-goers keeping these trends going sure can't.

MoS fell like a rock at the domestic box office. I remember when it was at $250m after a few weeks and people were throwing around $400-500m domestic estimates. Now at the end of summer it's clear that it won't reach $300m at the domestic box office. That's not the sign of a film that is a real crowd pleaser, and I think it spooked WB and is why they suddenly wanted to bring in Batman right away rather than go with the appeal of a straight-out MoS 2.

I have a lot of friends who went traveling this summer and didn't think a movie was their idea of a vacation. With that being said, they told me that they were going to see Man of Steel on BluRay when it comes out in a couple of months.

The article was kind of informative, but the the results don't include the gross from this weekend's release of Man of Steel in Japan. In the next couple of weeks we should see the $657 million figure bump up to $670 million or more.

Iron Man 3, WWZ and Pacific Rim were the best for me because they got me surprised, and had good action.

MOS was nice, it had extreme action but was kinda boring at times. Even the fights. And not everything seemed to make much sense.

Wolverine was ok, but I guess it can't compete with the ones above.

The rest I still need to see.
