Marvel To Release THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: THE ART OF THE MOVIE In January

Surprisingly, the next "The Art Of..." book to be released by Marvel won't be for a Marvel Studios movie, but for 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man! Could this be a sign that a crossover is on the cards? Probably not, but we will get to see what they originally had planned for the suit and The Lizard.

Marvel is also publishing a comic adaptation of the first movie this January, like they did for both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. I don't see them giving this treatment to the X-Men films, even in light of X-Men: Days of Future Past coming out next year. Regardless of whether or not The Amazing Spider-Man series is set within the MCU, Marvel definitely has a better working relationship with Sony than with Fox.

They're making this because they own the merchandising rights to the Spider-Man movies. There isn't some grand scheme going on here with Spider-Man in the MCU.

not gonna lie once I saw the title of this article, I thought it was the title for TASM2. I was relieved.

Thing is, Marvel is not supporting a "Art of" book for X-Men, or action figures or comics for the movies either. Last time they made an X-Men comic adaption had to be X2. FoX has the live action rights for X-Men, but cannot get the commercial stuff like figures, comics or Art of book without Marvels OK.

It can't be said it's solely because FoX has the X-Rights, cause Sony has the Spidey rights and Sony and Marvel have both went on record in the past as having a good relationship, and you know it's not just PR because the merchandising proves it.
