Hans Zimmer Reveals Why He's "Grappling" With BATMAN/SUPERMAN Decision
"I don't want to go and take what I did with Chris and just plonk it into another movie," says composer Hans Zimmer when asked again about whether he's interested in returning for Batman/Superman. However, he adds that he hasn't even been asked to return as of yet!
"Honestly, I'm just sort of grappling with that right now," Hans Zimmer told Vulture when asked how he would feel about returning to score Batman/Superman for Zack Snyder. "Quite seriously, the thought right now is that no, I don't want to go and take what I did with Chris and just plonk it into another movie. There isn't one good reason to do it, and there are so many good reasons not to do it." It's understandable that Zimmer wouldn't want to try to top his work on The Dark Knight Trilogy and easy to appreciate that he wouldn't want to just repeat it either. For that reason, his mixed feelings about returning for this movie might just be for the best, as he confirms that he hasn't been asked as of yet! "Zack hasn't talked to me about it, so I don't have to worry about it! I'll worry about it when I have to worry about it, and then, if I'm lucky, I'll have an idea. If I have an idea, I can do something with that, but if I don't have an idea, then my good idea is going to be, 'Get somebody else.'" And while he does express a desire to reunite with Zack Snyder, Zimmer adds, "I wouldn't want to put the ideas I used in the Chris Nolan Batman movies into a Superman movie. It just wouldn't feel right."
