Awesome news. Won't break $1 Billion but still impressive numbers.

Catching Fire is going to destroy the boxoffice until Hobbit comes out. Even though I'm happy Thor is successful, I was hoping it would be a little bit more successful but I knew a billion was not realistic.

Looks like it may end up being Marvel Studios third biggest movie. Not bad for a B-lister. For Asgard!

"Not bad for a B-lister."

I think that's an understatement.

I hope that phase 3 looks like this...

Ant-Man (2015)
Doctor Strange (2016)
Thor 3 (2016)
Black Panther (2017)
Captain America 3 (2017)
Indestructible Hulk (2018)
Avengers 3 (2018)

A few things I want to see in Thor 3 is Surtur, Enchantress, The Executioner and Beta Ray Bill. I have a strong feeling that Marvel will somehow find a way to make Loki the main villain again so just in case they do go this route I guess I wouldn't mind that but I really do want to see Thor team up with Beta Ray. I have a feeling Loki will be working with Enchantress and Executioner though.

Yay! Happy to see another successful comic book film even if I didn't like it. Marvel, just make a better movie next time and you will have double my congratulations.

Good to hear, the movie was enjoyable at least. :)

I'm not really sure if CA:TWS will be able make numbers like this. At least internationally I would expect him to do worse than Thor, regardless of the actual quality of the movie. But then again, I really don't know. Can't even say how CA:TFA performed compared to the first Thor.

Good movie. I had no problem with the humor. I was expecting IM3 humor but was happy I didn't get it

i think cap will do quite well,i always try to gauge audience fatigue and how many months the superhero films are apart from each other, Iron Man 3 did well because he is the most popular avenger , RDJ and that it was the first big blockbuster of the year, plus it didnt have much competition for two weeks until star trek, MOS did well ,but not aswell as WB might have wanted due to the excessive bombard of blockbusters we were getting and that it had big competition the next week,The Wolverine did well too but the collections werent as much as Fox would have wanted because the summer was kinda dying down, plus 3 superhero films in a row might have effected it personally, so i think the 3 or so month break between The Wolverine and Thor might have helped thor, plus it also not having competition for two weeks as well.

going onto next year, Cap is being released the beginning of April which is a good time for it because it might not have major competition that month, maybe from Transcendence, but idk . Spidey has a good two weeks until Godzilla comes out,it will probably be the highest grossing of the 4 superhero films next year, Xmen will do well too, i think this will be the highest grossing one due to such a huge starcast,Guardians is the risk,i think at this point, audiences will check out anything with the Marvel brand name on it,guardians success will depend if its a good movie or not, the risk also is that its being relases beginning of August and thats when the summer is near end ,kids are getting ready for school,so that will maybe effect it , hopefully not but we will see

@TheBlackNerd: No Enchantress, Executioner and Beta Ray Bill for Thor 3. As many have suggested before you those three, I'm going to tell you it's too crowded especially if you throw Surtur into the mix. It should be a straight war film with the Nine Realms at stake (obviously give a role to Jane and the other earthlings) and keep it about Thor and Loki having a final confrontation now that Loki is king and (hopefully they stick to this) Odin dead, and keeping the nine realms alive with the return of Surtur and his fire demons. His craving for the Twilight Sword should be his motivation. More time for Lady Sif and the Warriors Three as well as our introduction to Balder.

That being said here is my ideal Phase Three (I've also put this in fan fic a week or so ago) and also I hope they introduce Black Panther in Age of Ultron since Ultron Is going to want to upgrade his armor and potentially go to Wakanda for Vibranium since they can't have Adimantium in the MCU.

Ant-Man
Doctor Strange
Captain America 3
Black Panther
Thor 3
Avengers 3

A Captain America and Black Panther team-up film would be cool but Feige has already said himself that Black Panther is heavily in development right now so I'm really anticipating it's release.

And Captain America: The Winter Soldier needs to do financial well. When I went to see Thor 2 in theaters many people were making mummers after they saw Caps trailer. Can't say the same for Days of Future Past but that's my #1 most anticipated comic book movie of 2014 so I'm anxiously waiting for the second trailer to make everyone go nuts! lol

I'm not interested in a Captain America/Black Panther team up film. A lot of people want team up films but I'm only interested if it's something like Justice League or Avengers. Two heroes teaming up isn't all that interesting.
