Despite veering off drastically from the comics in many respects (Rick's never losing that hand of his, is he?), last night's midseason finale of The Walking Dead was a pretty damn good 45 minutes of television! According to Deadline, the episode saw 12.1 million total viewers tune in to see The Governor attack the prison, a midseason finale record for the AMC series as it's a huge increase from 2012's 10.5 million. Overall, The Walking Dead has been up 29% in the first half of its fourth season over the first half of season three. It will return on February 9th, 2014.

Brilliant episode and I am glad they are veering from the comics, as it makes it interesting to those who have read them

Awesome, brilliant episode, very emotional and dramatic, can't wait to see where they go from here! Long as they keep Negan back until at least 3/4 episodes into Season 6, think there's some great stuff planned for the rest of the Season, lots of material to pick from. Really enjoying season 4, the virus arc was interesting, and the last few episodes are actually some of my favourite, the entire governor arc

Well deserved. Rest in sh@t, Governor.

I loved it, but I do think they dropped the ball on The Governor overall.

Great episode! Not quite Red wedding-shocking, but I wasn't expecting that! Hershel's death was a significant one, not like all the people that have been dying in the past few weeks.

Rest in peace Hersh!
Rot in hell, "Brian"!

Some good moments but thought they could have done a much better job on the Gov. I was so hoping he was gonna be more evil.
Tufasrox - 12/2/2013, 1:10 PM
Oh yah and that 'virus' thing...that apparently was only affecting Rick's group and not anyone else...terrible.

Should've been the season 3 finale, but I liked it nonetheless.

That was a great episode, and I mourn for Hershel, my heart goes out to his daughters, along with my....to soon? I wonder if that was the easy way to drop the dead weight of caring a baby in the story, or if those kids, guided by Tyresse I assume, have Judith. Having Tyresse help those couple kids w/ Judith survive, and make it back to the group, would allow for the strong bond between Rick and Tyresse to form.

Newmutants: This was just the ratings boosting mid season finale. Some genius thought up the idea to boost ratings, and alot of shows do it now. I assume this season will pick back up around the end of February/ beginning of March.

SuperMario: To me, that would have been too close to the comics. I like that last season ended on a high note, and then they did all this. My only issue, I think they should have acouple episodes more building Phillip taking over thus new group, and kind of converting most of them to his way of taking the prison.

I finally got around to watching it. I DVRed the episode. I had this sick feeling Hershel was going to get killed off and sadly I was right. All those people could have survived if only they would have listened to Rick. I have a feeling one of the kids picked up Judith. It seemed like she survived because even though there was blood in the baby carrier there was nothing left behind. So I think she is with Tyreese and the kids. It just left you with thinking she died but come later on you find out she is still out there.

Great way to end the midway point of the season. I loved it! It's gonna be a long two months.

@OG

I too wish there was a better transition from "Sympathetic Governor" back to "Evil Governor". Alot of the impact was lost in the rush.

Despite all the negative complaining that the show is getting,like it's too slow,or lost it's direction or should just be cancelled because they're not following the comic book or whatever,it still did extremely well in the ratings!Hmmmm...

Normal viewers love the show phuck the whining little cbm twats.
sameoldthing - 12/2/2013, 4:19 PM
Rick is a puss. Got his ass beat.
knighted - 12/2/2013, 5:22 PM
I don't think anyone on the show could take the governor in a straight fight. Both Merle and rick couldn't do it.
marcvader1 - 12/2/2013, 5:56 PM
The govna is like 6'3 or 4. That's a big dude.
AOSgotAlright - 12/2/2013, 6:26 PM
The Gov: "I have a tank"
Rick: "We have a Daryl"
TheDarkKnightSlap - 12/2/2013, 7:44 PM
You dicks can suck it. Carl is the fvckin badass. Kid is the samurai of zombieland. Bring on more of the story arc. "Walking Dead 408: Too Far Gone" is easily the best episode of the series. And stop spelling Fvck with a "ph". Just ruins your vocal ambition.
MightyZeus - 12/2/2013, 9:15 PM
That's a lot considering the last episode had 11 million viewers. This show in my opinion is one of the best tv comic adaptations on television.

@MightyZeus

It was very satisfying seeing those kids shooting that chick with the curly hair.

I don't think the governor is dead. At least I hope not. He's my favorite person on WD.
